I am ✨makingmyway✨ through c4e24 and for my own shame do not remember what kind of relationship do Halovar and Tachonis families have, but I'm just gonna throw something out there, ok?
It is a bit alarming that Tachonis people have their nightmarish candles and Halovars have a whole ass holiday about candles.
Sooo, here it is, my very first and almost fully handmade cosplay. Dare I say it looks fine?
Continuing my dao re-play, and wow, but Andraste is such Mythal. Probably obvious thing, but still wow. Not saying they are the same person, but their stories have so much in common.
Andraste begged the Maker to return to His children. Mythal asked Solas to leave his spirit life.
The Maker asked Andraste to come with him to Heaven. Solas asked Mythal to leave evanuris with him.
Andraste lead her people into the war against Tevinter Imperium. Mythal and others fought against titans.
Andraste was betrayed and killed by her closest. Mythal was killed by evanuris.
Andraste is remembered by her spirit, that is now sitting by the Maker, and her Ashes, her earthy remains. Mythal's spirit shattered, and one half of it lives in the Fade, in a place Solas build specifically for her, while other half lived thought centuries in the mortal world.
The Maker yet again turned His back on His children after Andraste's death. Solas went to sleep after Mythal's death (and creating the Veil, capturing evanuris, etc.)
Wanted to say that the difference is that in elven history Mythal is one of the main Creators, elves worship her and definitely not Solas, while in Andrastian chantry the Maker is in charge, but let's be real: the very name "Andrastian chantry"? That alone speakes volumes. All faithful call themselves andrastian, her singing and her teachings started the Chant of Light.
And what's also interesting is that one of the andrastian believes is that when the Chant of Light comes to every corner of the world then the Maker will forgive His children and return to them. And basically Solas "returned" and revealed himself as the Dread Wolf after the word about real elven history reached us (as inquisitor at the time) and we resolved everything a.k.a made the Maker not be rude to the world, only after learning every secret, every true "verse of the Chant" (being murals, Solas' regrets, connection between the Veil and evanuris' lives, etc.)
God, I love dragon age lore.
It's so funny. A month ago I've made my first ever cosplay, that was Rook cosplay, and it was fully handmade, even costume, since I do not have a sewing machine. So not having any experience and enough time caused not so good of a cosplay, but still more than okay for the first time.
Anyway, another fest on the way, I do have more time and understanding of some things, so decided to make my cosplay at least a little better. And now I have two lyrium daggers (new one on the left ofc (and they both light up btw)).
I know in the game both daggers are identical, but cannot stop thinking these are basically the original vs the shitty dagger Rook tricks Solas with, lol.
Don't quite remember if it was phrased that way in da:tv, but dwarves are basically tranquil, aren't they?
The thought came to me, when I was talking to that one tranquil in Ostagar. Can't dream, can't cast magic, more resistant to lyrium. The only difference is emotions, dwarves still have them.
So my question is can we reverse dwarven "tranquility" the same way we can do it to mage or seekers tranquility?
I mean Harding turned out that way probably because she contacted the very weapon that severed dwarves from dreams. Shaper Valta was struck with raw lyrium, probably the very essence of the titan, which made her "pure". And, well, now that we all have the lyrium dagger at our disposal, dwarves can just get in a very long line to touch it, but would it work just like that? Would it help to also try the other way with spirits? Or Harding and Valta (and probably Sandal) are just that special?
It's a bit similar but I guess it works in a different way? Both Valta and Harding had to do stuff with lyrium, but Cadash inquisitor going directly to the fade or getting a bit possessed by a demon in champions of the just + helped by Cole to get out of there would probably make changes to a tranquil but not to a dwarf. Like it wasn't exactly possession but you know. There is some connection there but dwarves are born like that + with feelings so it's not exactly the same way that the rite works.
Oooh, yeah, makes sense. For some reason I did not consider the fact that dwarves are born that way. And it's been thousands of years, so even if it might've been similar in the beginning, now it is dwarven nature, not something that has been done recently.

So here is a thought. What if spirits and demons of the Fade are drawn to mages because of the lyrium or rather of the ability to change reality with it.
Well yeah, you may say, that is well known, even the Chant of Light says so that spirits lack of imagination and therefore envy humans and want to be like them.
But what I mean is that spirits specifically want lyrium, because they once saw others building bodies for themselves out of lyrium and becoming the first elves, and now wants the same.
Although now there is the Veil and all of the titans are slain, so spirits cannot get to the lyrium, so they possess ones who not only have lyrium, but also can use it to change reality.
And lazy or experienced spirits possesses bodies specifically because they cannot build their owns.
There is precious little we know about Fen'Harel, for they say he did not care for our people.
- Fen'Harel: the Dread Wolf codex
Bolaire is Taliesin's gift to cosplayers, I think, because as long as you dress the vibe and make a mask, Bolaire could literally have any body.
Now are they a curse to the art team? 1100%
OMG, SO TRUE
Unintentionally hilarious, sociopathic, very patient (30 seconds) nerd who would:
> by all means taste something not edible by it's original definition;
> yell at everybody for even trying to mix up with a weird fucked up shit;
> deal with that weird fucked up shit;
> be absolutely amazed by the weird fucked up shit;
> above all protect children
Bolaire is so The Doctor (especially Tenth) and I love it
