shoutout to every single table in this game for bullying the crow keepers so hard they, the oldest surviving thieves guild in the city, decided to disband!
I do love that we get to see the Schemers doing the "unglamorous" work that is required for a revolution. It can't all be marches and combat and clandestine spy missions. The people involved have day-to-day needs. They need food, shelter, health care, child care. All these things cost money, and the resistance will end up in a much more precarious position if people can't take time off work to participate. This is a big reason resistance movements fade out and die in real life.
It's all well and good to get people to pick up a sword and shield and fight for cause. But at the end of the day, you need people to make dinner and wash the dishes just as much. Community care IS resistance.
This is a great scene from Hal. This whole episode, every scene has reinforced the reasons that Thjazi couldn't tell Hal anything without putting him at risk. Every scene with Hal leading up to the fight in the sewers demonstrated how much Hal did not want to do any of this. We all know exactly why Thjazi never told Hal.
Hal made his choices, and he's angry at Thjazi because otherwise he has to face that this was something they both chose. Hal chose comfort and getting along. Thjazi chose to fight and did what he could to avoid collateral damage. Thjazi respected Hal's wishes, and it's something he never really bothered with for others, not to this level of devotion.
