Nicole is a magician I swear, how lovely are these trays? I love the print placements and glazes she chose. Loosely based on my favorite North American mantid, Gonatista grisea, saw one as a child on the side of my aunts house and never forgot it.

We canāt all be loud. We canāt all stand to stand out. Some of us are quiet, obscure, unobtrusive. Like P. schizochromatica. We exist in the margins and are hardly noticed. But there is nothing wrong with that. In fact it is good. Because guess whatāthe margins and fringes and quite spaces are still SPACE. And you, like P. schizochomatica, deserve to take up space just the same as everyone else. What I love about lichens is their persistence, their diversity, their perseverance, and how they are quietly everywhere, fixing nitrogen, converting Co2 into O2, filling every quiet corner of this world like life, with existence, with SOMETHING. And there is beauty in that, even for the smallest, plainest lichens out there.Ā
