On the 13th; I got a ton of ideas for the game's story. Safe to say that by tonight I had 3/8 Chapters fully written, of which being the first two ones you play through.
I also fully figured out the general combat
Furthermore, I assigned a few historically/geographically (as much as I could) accurate instruments to the characters. They will have sound effects for their text based on said instruments because I love DST... And I think their characterization is amazing.
Here is what I have in regards to that:
Conrad: Oboe / Shawm | mostly due to personal preference.
Roesia: Vihuela | supposed to mirror the Bard's Lute, but a slightly renewed version, as this is where the 6th string was popularized.
Ute: Vielle | Medieval version of a violin, its supposed to mirror how Roesia is a guitar- both string instruments.
Olivier: Sackbut | Referencing his french origins and makes it more obvious that he is not related to Conrad by blood.
Agatha: Gemshorn | Amplifies her german roots while also connecting her to the macabre due to its depiction in "Der doten dantz"
Edward: Hurdy-Gurdy | Touching on his Anglo-Saxon roots, as well as his versatility, shown how the instrument is being used again. Visually and tactically speaking, I believe it also fits him well.
An: Psaltery | I always imagined him to be a harp (for obvious reasons). But this one specifically, as it is shown to have a versatile appearance during its popularity.
Aamon: Bassoon | to compliment Conrad's Oboe sound, as well as it's origin
Bard: Lute | Obviously. The typical bard instrument. Not much to think here! But it also touches up on her secret origins.
Gravekeeper: Chimes | Supposed to represent the lantern he uses to communicate. It is also a rather old instrument, just as he is.
Anyways... If any of my research misses the point, feel free to correct me.
Sorry for no updates in a bit though! I had to take a little time off work. But we are so back. I believe I'll try working again soon but we will see. Sorry for no visual updates, most things happened in secret (loremaxxing) !
