Idk, I thought the last post was really unnecessarily cynical and am logging in again briefly for Reasons, so :V

“Tumblrpocalypse,” I said, and here we are uhhh -checks watch- 5 years later and this is like, one of the last popular social media websites that… well, no, it has NOT been free of armageddons and mass exoduses and deeply questionable management decisions and the like. But like, for future context, I am posting on the day of/after (timezones depending) Twitter really imploding; time will tell if this, too, is premature forecasting, but my hopes are Not high.

The internet lasts forever except when it doesn’t. What an incredibly sobering era.

Anyway, I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been, uh, Checking Tumblr still these past few years—just not through the dashboard, and still way less than I would be if I actually logged in. This has been a net positive for my “ooh screen number go brr” and “Must See Entire Dashboard Always Or I’ll Perish” fixations. Still, “Internet’s shittiest zombie” is not how I’d describe this place nowadays; it’s A Hellsite(TM) through and through, just not the shittiest. Yes, everywhere else got worse, and being able to turn off algorithms (to some degree, anyway) and have chronological feeds is the Bare Minimum, or so I would’ve hoped—but genuinely, there’s still lotsa cool people on here, funny posts and trends and memes and art and all that, and it’s actually really nice to see The Hellsite still thriving! Real “slime mold growing under the bed after a mouth swab petri experiment got left forgotten” energy, gg everyone. Genuinely.

I am still whacking myself with a broom to not Return-return for aforementioned fixation reasons, though. Much as I do miss shouting to the void at times, those brain pings were and Are not good for me, and I want/need to get out and touch grass more :V

Anywho, blog will continue to stay up as long as I can help it, probably more or less untouched from its current state because I am A) a stickler for archival, still, and also B) past the point of caring about cleanup, ngl. ’Tis what it is! Time capsule!!

As noted above the readmore, I still use deviantArt, Dreamwidth less so but it’s still very useful to have, and I have a personal site where things go too. And for the record, my Discord username is not a-flyleaf, or aflyleaf or a_flyleaf or anything remotely similar; it will continue to be something Not That for the foreseeable future. Doubt I’m ~known~ enough for this to be relevant information, but still, putting it out there.
