Feminism is a Nutshell
First Wave Feminism: Hey, can we have rights?
Government: Sure, why not, but you gotta work for it.
*40 years later*
Second Wave Feminism: Thanks for the rights, but we still can’t vote.
Government: Alrighty then, same deal as last time.
*50 years later*
Third Wave Feminism: Hey, if all men could just fucking die because they’re all racist homophobic sexist pieces og shit who only rape and dream about sexualizing anyone with a vagina no matter the age, that would be great.
Everyone: Can we step back a bit, what you’re saying is a little too genocidal for my taste.
Feminists: OMG, stop oppressing me, you rapist!!!!!!1!!
It’s kind of incredible how you managed to get every single aspect of this so unbelievably wrong. Like, even right down to the timeline. Unreal.
Yeah, you’re right, I forgot to mention everything else horrible the third wave of feminism is doing, has done, or is encouraging to be done.
I mean, considering you think second wave feminism was about women getting the vote, or that third wave was 50 years later, I’m gonna go ahead and assume you have no idea what you’re talking about. Which is truly amazing when Google exists and you have the opportunity to not look like an idiot online, but here you are…
hey OP here’s some info about the struggle for the vote (”suffrage”) in an easy to comprehend format:
OP doesn’t know the difference between organized politcal movements and someone saying something they don’t like, and has already proven they don’t know what suffrage means, so I don’t know that there is a format easy enough for then to comprehend.
Not to mention the fact that their info is euro/white-centric. WOC didn’t get their rights like white women did (and boy oh boy it looks like we’re going back to the fucking stone age now lads).
True, and the dates vary across countries. By 1922 in Canada, all provinces (except Newfoundland, which was a separate country at the time) granted suffrage to white and Black women, but Asian women didn’t get suffrage until after world war 2, Inuit women didn’t get it until the 1950s and First Nations women couldn’t vote without giving up treat status until the 1960s.
Either way, the fact that OP thinks second wave feminism was about getting the vote, and not the literal women’s suffrage movement… like, imagine calling your movement suffrage without it being about voting… wtf? 😂
And the fact that OP thinks that third wave feminism, which officially began in the 1990s (the term was coined by Rebecca Walker in 1992) was 50 years after the second wave… like… second wave ended in the 1980s and was succeeded by third wave in the 1990s… that’s not 50 years.
Also, the idea that the government was just like “okay you get rights, but you have to work for it”…. second wave involved lawyers and activists going before the supreme court to have laws changed… the government didn’t say shit, feminists won high profile cases and changed the rules.
And as if the government ever just offered the Suffragettes anything. They staged a full on revolution. Women died for the cause. They were put in prison, and tortured. Like, I don’t know what OP thinks “work for it” means, because clearly they’ve never read up on Black Friday, or watched the footage of Emily Wilding Davidson getting trampled to death, or read the first person accounts of women being force fed in prison.
But poor OP, has to read angry posts online, and thus has to retaliate by proving the fact that they’ve taken exactly zero time to learn a single thing about the thing they are ranting about.
I have a hard time getting around you critisizing my claim that women had to work for rights by proving that they had to work for those rights.
And since I'm already down the rabbit hole of "automatically the bad guy", I'll bring in all my other controversial opinions.
Trans people don't exist. If you're born with a dick, you're a man, if not, you're a woman, end of story.
Stop shoving your sexuality down my throat. Make the most interesting thing about you something that isn't what you want to suck on.
The LBGT community is a cult.
And finally, Black Lives Matter is a racist movement, just like feminism is a sexist one.
You are all idiots and I'll meet everyone of you in hell
