Ever heard of TIGER MOON? they performed live at the 950 summit at the ATLANTA CONTEMPORARY ART CENTER in June 2014. I was hired to shoot the event so i guess thats my excuse for not sharing the event on somethingatlanta or anywhere else.
So, Tiger Moon handed me this ZINE. small dinky comic book that transforms into a poster, yeah!

Courtyard Ornamentation with 4 Sounding Dots and a Shade 2013, 4-channel sound, directional loudspeakers, architectural additions, durations and dimensions variable
In CO4SDS, 4 directional loudspeakers are placed on the walls surrounding the Gloom Ibrahim courtyard. Each loudspeaker plays a pattern of a single percussive sound (dot) that is repeated at regular intervals, creating distinct combinations in various parts of the space. In the best listening location, the “sweet spot” located under the central shade, the four sounds combine to form a reduced version of one of the most well-known dance beats of the region and beyond. The beat becomes a minimal gesture, an invitation for a calm dance in the now empty and silent courtyard. All the sounds are performed by hand, reflecting the artist’s wish to relate so-called “audio ornamentation” with handmade and visual ornamentation. The human voice makes an occasional appearance to transmit a message, acting as text and calligraphy in a rhythmic relation with the percussive dots.
whew. thats the last time i’ll willingly write out all the wall text.
ART PAPERS threw a pretty awesome auction to raise some money for… kittens or something (call them if you wanna know the cause). Tons of people showed up, people i’ve never scene at Atlanta art shows. i hope somebody snagged that email list.

I loved this piece. Its all stitching, probably done by hand and the words stitched on the cloth canvas, "clothing optional", is the same rule i'd have on my own island. besides all that, about a dozen people didn't "get it" because they were color blind and couldn't make out the words, and that makes me feel special.
