A different somewhere in West Texas. It felt like we were driving through West Texas for a days. And when you're not sure where the next gas station is, your fuel tank is running low and you have no cell phone service, it can get a little scary.

Where We Stayed: Knoxville, Tennessee 

As we walked around Sara's apartment taking pictures of it, we asked ourselves, "Is this creepy?" The answer: yes.

For consolidation purposes, here's the Tumblr we created for our road trip in 2009. New York to Knoxville to New Orleans to Austin to Flagstaff to California with random stops in between including amazing gift shops that held things like taxidermied alligators and fireworks.

Where We Stayed: In Knoxville, Tennessee: Sara's apartment found through CouchSurfing.org. Since we were doing a road trip across the country, we needed to try and stay where we could for free.

The Couch Surfing community is amazing. Sara was a fantastic host, showing us all around Knoxville, highlights of "must-sees" and just random local places. Great town.
