9 (2009) Thoughts and Theory!

The movie 9 is an interesting movie. It follows these weird little doll robots called stitchpunks who wake up in an alternate version of the 1940s where there was a war between humans and robots. There's robots that kill several of them, there's this magical talisman, etc. The movie has a really dark and edgy vibe to it, which is really cool, though it doesn't save the very drawn out plot. They took a 10 minute short film and stretched it out slowly. 9 is a movie where the look of it covers up a thin story, with basic tropes such as the outcast becoming a hero, machines killing everyone, all that stuff. The characters are very one sided, though I can excuse that cause they're pieces of a soul, so they aren't full of personality because they're PIECES of one.

Also, I have an interesting theory about the characters! My theory is that the scientist is autistic, and the twins 3 and 4 are the ones with the hyper focused curiosity about the abandoned library, plus 2 is the inventive type. 1 might be the need for order and control. 5 is the one concerned for other's safety. 6 is obsessed with the source, religously drawing it. And 9 is the one that always tries to help, even when it doesn't work, and is also determined. And sorry, I don't have any for the other characters lmao
