Jesse ran his hand through his hair. He couldn’t figure out what it was, exactly, but he felt antsy like he did sometimes. Like he was on the outside of something, like everything he said and did was wrong.

“I’m not trying to be a burden or a leech. Using up your money and everything. That wasn’t... That wasn’t the idea. I thought...” What had he thought? Maybe that they’d made some kind of connection, that they could look out for each other. He shrugged, leaving it at that.

hey i haven’t had a lot of writing motivation right now, but i do kinda want to make a blog for norman bates (from the movie not the show). is there anybody who’d want to interact with that? just want to know if there’s any interest.

Rolling his eyes hard and pushing the kid. “ Don’t go crushin’ on me, Goldielocks. “ Ash teased him before shrugging. “ I’m a jack of all trades kid, I know things, I do things. Number one rule.” Ash points his finger up. “Shoot first,” He makes a gun promptly, making a shooting noise with his mouth. “ think never.” 

“So go to sleep or else I’m blasting violent music into your ear holes again.” Ashley began driving again and  nodded towards the jacket in the back of the car. “Go ahead and use that as blanket. It’s pretty warm but don’t drool on it or I’ll headbutt you so hard that a demon will seem like a dream.”

Jesse could feel his cheeks getting red… which was annoying. He could tell he was being teased, but it still felt like people always thought the wrong thing about him, and he was pretty sure that blushing wasn’t going to make the wrong idea any better.

“Just wake me up if if I act weird. I don’t really want to wait and see if... if that’d work,” he said, as he twisted himself around to get the jacket out of the back. He felt kind of weird using someone’s jacket as a blanket, but he knew he’d feel more like sleeping if he was covered. Even the most irrational feeling of safety was something he’d take and be grateful about it. 

Still, he narrowed his eyes at Ash as he pulled the jacket up to his chin. “And I don’t drool.”
