Giddy up
My order just arrived. It was supposed to be here for the weekend. So they offered me either a small refund or a 50% credit toward my next order. Taking the discount off my next order because even though it arrived late because this is exactly as advertised.
Always gets a reblog. đĽđ¤
Danny & The Veetos - Sunnukvøld à Mai (FO)
Recently discovered! Modern mainstream music, but with that special nordic touch :D. My favourite part of the song: The verses.
Faun - Federkleid (DE)
Quite a mystical song, which has a certain happy tone and rythm in it! My favourite part of the song is the flute which plays during the whole song.
Eivør - à Tokuni (FO)
Okay, I donât understand a word of this song, but thatâs what I like :P. Eivør has a certain mysterious air which I love. I consider this as her best song she has released until now, but I probably will post some other songs of her later. âĂ Tokuniâ has that mysterious sound which one might hear in some nordic songs. Also, her voice is so... Eivør. And thatâs a positive thing :D. My favourite part of the song: The whole song actually.
Sabaton - Primo Victoria (SE)
Okay, although this song has nothing to do with it and tells a complete other story, I thought it was a bit applicable for the Croatia world championship football match and their first ever qualification for the final :D. Primo Victoria (First Victory, now you know what it has to do with yesterday :P) is about the siege of the coasts of Normandy on D-Day. Lyrics even include the specific date (6th of June, 1944). This song is a quite specific genre, youâve got to love it. My favourite part of the song: The choruses.
Lovechild - Eyes Wide Shut (Perfect Day) (FL)
I have to admit that I really like myself some good metal. But sometimes, the vocals are not that special. And, well, the type of vocals in this song are not that original either. However, the lead singerâs voice is one of my favourites in this genre. Plus, the guitars are uplifting the song, especially in the first part of the chorus. My favourite part: The guitars overall.
Ewert and the Two Dragons - Good Man Down (EST)
Another indie band from Estonia! I just discovered this song yesterday when listening to Oblivion (Tenfold Rabbit), when this song popped up as a recommended song. Iâm in love with its sound and the voice is fitting so well here. It has that typical scandinavian folk-ish sound which I absolutely love. My favourite part: The choruses.Â
Oomph! ft. Marta Jandovå - Träumst Du (DE/CZ)
Please donât feel offended by the oversexed video clip :S. I think the music is quite nice. Oomph!! fits in the same style as Rammstein, which can be seen at the instrumentals and the leading vocals. I cannot say anymore, actually, as I donât know the ins and outs of the band or Marta. My favourite part of the song: In fact, the first couplet, when the male vocalist starts singing. His voice is quite...intense..?
Racoon - Liverpool Rain (NL)
Although classified as ârockâ, I donât really see it as rock. Still a beautiful song, though. I would describe it as a Friday-song, a song which you can turn on in the car, when driving back home from work for a nice weekend or the summer holidays (which is my case). My favourite part of the song is the bridge, but I also love the accompaniment of the guitar.
MNTHA - Nefelibata (LV)
This young woman from Latvia makes some top-notch electric music, but she does not have a lot of songs yet. This one is my favourite, as itâs such a flowing song: It looks like you are constantly floating on the music and the voice and at the end you are softly landing at the banks of the music river. My favourite part of the song: The chorus
Sirenia - Ditt Endelikt (NO)
This song is, as far as I know, the only song of this metal band which is sung in Norwegian (but I can be completely wrong!). And I think they did a good job in doing so as itâs a beautiful language in my opinion. No screamy voices again in this song, and that was a good choice, as now the incredible(!) instrumentals come forward in the song. Are there any favourite parts for me in this song? Nope, every second reaches the highest level for me, but I must say that I especially enjoy the last chorus!
PVRIS - You and I (US)
The first American song I am covering here! I got to know this song when I was listening to the holiday-playlist from my bf. I adore that raw voice of Lynn! PVRIS used to be a metalcoreband before (including another lead singer), but the sound drastically changed with the publishing of the album, on which âYou and Iâ can be found (âWhite Noiseâ). Still, some influences can be found in this song, like the raw sound at the end of the (pre-?)chorus, which is also my favourite part of the song.
Deep Forest and MĂĄrta SebestyĂŠn - Martaâs Song (FR/HU)
I knew that my parents had a cd (yup, Iâm that old :P) with a dozen spiritual-ish songs, and this is one of them. I would never have guessed that this song is already 23 years old, it sounds so timeless! I really enjoy listening to the music and the voice of MĂĄrta in this song. Warning for the videoclip: it might make you dizzy as f*ck. My favourite part of the song: The musical bridge, including the violin.
Clamidia - Nora (RSM)
I was looking for this song for so long. I knew of the existence of it since I watched a compilation video of songs of sammarinese artists, but I could not find this particular song. The music video is a bit creepy (or more trippy?), but it fits the song quite well. Although the voice of the singer is rather unpolished, it does not bother me a lot. Actually, I can appreciate it in this song! My favourite part of the song: The choruses
