This short film was an entry into the "48 hour" competition held in London Sept 2021, i.e. 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film to be adjudicated amongst the participants and others! I, Tony David was focus pulling on this project staring Bhasker Patel and joint directed by the team of James Shannon and Toby Martin Hughes, with Alex Bieraugel as director of photography, Mick Shakespeare as voice over artist, Owen Pakiry-Palmer as sound recordist, Jean-Loup Pinson as composer, Omar Radwan as gaffer and Ioanna Marti as first assistant camera.

AILLIE - HUMAN from ATLANTIC MOVING PICTURE on Vimeo.

This music video was filmed a few years ago, the artist was called Aillie, the song called Human but the video was never finished. At the time I, Tony David, was trying to make the video the best I could possibly make it. I didn’t have the money and I didn’t have an adequate command of editing or of colour grading skills. The original shooting was done by me, flying the steadicam with the help of Marlene Fernandes, a very talented Camera Assistant and by the boyfriend of Aillie. In the end Aillie, who was a independent singer-songwriter at the time, got understandably upset with me over the delay and we separated contact of which I’m truly sorry. Recently I re-cut the video and fortuitously bumped into an old colleague who’d recently become a colourist. We collaborated on the video and created a result which I’m finally happy with. I hope to find Aillie so I can apologise again and to finally give her the video she'd worked for!

A friend and I were bored one Christmas afternoon and decided to shoot a film using a Nikon stills camera mounted on a Ronin camera stabiliser and walk around the streets of London's west end.

It took just over 25 minutes and we were exhausted!!
