Sonic and Rouge have a lot in common if you look past surface level attributes.

Both enjoy freedom and fanatically pursue self stimulation

Both follow personal morals over law but ultimately do the right thing when needed

Both enjoy bothering Knuckles

They're both equally as manipulative when you think about it.

Rouge just tunes her words for specific responses from everyone, being a Spy, while Sonic provokes people because he likes getting challenged. They're unapologetic about it too.

The two are master instigators for different goals.
