AUs, polyships, and OC x Canon are all welcome, as well as transfem headcanons of canon male characters, but not just genderbends of them*

*That last past is the way it is because I absolutely want to welcome and encourage trans headcanons (E.G F/F Metamy with transfem Metal) but I don’t want this event which is supposed to be about boosting femslash in the fandom to just turn into people genderbending their favourite M/M ships (E.G Classic rule 63 Sonadow. If you headcanon them both as transfem, and create something about that, great, that’s perfect! But if it’s just a genderbend to get into the event, then that’s sort of against the spirit of it all)

A bit dumb question. But uhh there is a character, Gold the Tenrec, who I learned is Bi with big tilt towards females (as he wiki stands). I still haven't picked a gf for her in my AU (I ran out of girls XD) so is it ok to draw her alone? (I just aim to draw different pair for different prompt and I have 4 XD)

Hello! I'd say that given that the point of this event is to boost shipping of female characters in the Sonic fandom, the event would require some actual shipping for submissions. You're perfectly welcome to make an OC to ship Gold with if you'd like, or perhaps someone might have some ideas for you in the notes of this post?

I appreciate that this perhaps doesn't apply here, but I'd also like to clarify given the tone of the post that aspec headcanons and queerplatonic relationships are absolutely allowed and welcomed! The ships don't need to be necessarily romantic in nature, but they should still involve more than one character.

would characters like Barry or Soleil/Lunar be okay to have for this event?

Canon nonbinary characters as well as nonbinary headcanons will be allowed, yes! I appreciate that it's a bit of a grey area, but the goal of the event is to promote sapphic content of Sonic characters. If the character in a relationship with a woman or another nonbinary character could be classed as a sapphic relationship, then it's all good!

Dates will be posted! I’m still in the process of finalising, and the delay has largely been over making a graphic, but they’re likely to be June 15th to 21st, if that helps!

That’s certainly alright! What you have described is not a rule 63 type genderbend, so we will be very much happy to accept it as part of a submission! 💖

We want the event to inspire interest in female characters and their relationships, so the rule around genderbends is entirely just to stop people from genderswapping their favourite male characters for the express purpose of getting them into the event. Genuine gender headcanons will always be welcome.

✨Interest check results! ✨

Thank you to everyone who filled in our interest check form! 💖 Now, for the results…

Firstly, 100% of respondents were interested in the event! It’s nice to have found our crowd! 😁 And it was lovely to hear that 72% of our respondents were interested in engaging with content made for the event, so that what we can get people recognition for their work! In last year’s feedback form, we heard that 71% of people would also say that the event made them feel connected with others in the community, so we hope to spread a similar sentiment this year!

Additionally, 44% people reported being interested in drawing for the event, 60% for writing something for it, and 12% making something else for it. This is very exciting to hear! A motivation for running this event will be to increase F/F numbers on AO3, so we’re very happy to see so many writers interested in the event! And, of course, we hope to foster further interest here on Tumblr too with other art forms.

Next, 52% of people reported being new to this event, mostly as they did not know about it last year (48%). Welcome, to everybody new! We hope you enjoy the event when it comes around! 💖 And thank you to everybody who is returning for a second year as well!

We would like to thank everybody who submitted prompt ideas on the form. Some feedback we received last year was that some people found some of the prompts somewhat lacking, so we hope to improve on that this year with community-given ideas inspiring our prompt line-up. The exact set will be decided upon and released closer to the time, but we are very thankful in advance for the help.

Now, we offered some options about whether a resource for femslash ships in the fandom might be useful…

24% of people reported that they would find it useful to have something to help them find rarepairs ahead of time, and 8% said that they thought it would be daunting to find F/F ships to create for, as well as 40% believing that it would be useful for others, so the mod of this blog will be putting together a document with some recommendations for ships and content for them. This will likely contain an overview of these ships, and some art and fic recs where the mod has some. So keep your eye out for that! 👀

Now, for the important question… What month would everyone who responded prefer for the event to be held in?

January, February, and June were all popular, though June got the most amount of votes, with 60% of respondents saying that it worked well for them. This event will be very on theme for Pride Month, so once again, we will be hosting during June! ✨

The exact dates will be decided later on, along with prompts, but similar to last year, the event will likely be held within one of the first two full weeks of June, as to avoid clashing with Sonic’s birthday and the many events that will be taking place at that time to celebrate. This also gives everyone plenty of time to prepare and share the word!

And as a final note, we got some lovely encouraging comments at the end of the form 💖

Hello, everyone! This form has been open for five weeks now, throughout all of October, so I will be writing up a post about its results this weekend, on Sunday (9th of November 2025).

I will leave the form still open after discussing responses, so if you would still like to submit prompt ideas or the like to it in the upcoming weeks, that is perfectly alright! However, I will be discussing and selecting a month for the event based on the responses on the form on Sunday, and date preferences submitted after then will not be considered.

I don’t run NSFW here because I don’t particularly know how to moderate it, nor do I particularly hold much interest in it myself (plus I do what this event to be minor accessible) but I have absolutely no issues with it, so it’d be super cool if you ran it yourself :)
