I was rewatching pokemon and got to thinking a bit to hard about the little bits of world building between the Anime and the games. Particularly about my favorite character, Kabu.

In Pokémon: Horizons Kabu mentions that he likes to stop into the battle cafe for sweets. When you visit the Motostoke battle cafe in Sword and Sheild one of the treats you can buy and win are Lava Cookies from Lavaridge. I know it’s not technically cannon but Masters EX confirms that Kabu is from Lavaridge himself.

Does that mean that the battle cafe stocks Lava Cookies just so Kabu doesn’t feel homesick?

Me, In the Mood for ✨Spicy✨ Fanfiction of My Favorite Pokémon Gay Couple from Paldea: Ooo! Monster Dragon X trans man AU! This will be a fun read!

Supposedly ✨Spicy✨ Fanfic: They have a hybrid child that decides to change the world for the better by being a librarian and they're amazing dads to him and the last few chapters will emotionally cripple you for the rest of your life.

Me: What- huh?! *immediately breaks apart emotionally and cries worse than one of the characters in the ship does canonically* I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS!!! I DIDN'T KNOW I NEEDED TO SEE THEM AS DADS IN A QUIRKY LITTLE DRAGON THEMED AU THAT STARTED OFF AS A MONSTER FUCKING LEMON!!! 😭

Yeah, so I had an emotional breakdown over a fanfic that was meant to be spicy, not emotionally damaging. I need to take a week off of life to process this. I need to make FAN ART! I- I need to actually CRY! 😭 Yeah, and here's the fanfic, I'm not a gatekeeping dick.

Postwick Bros Mystery Dungeon AU: Sleeby Snuggles (Mini Fic Below)

After being accepted into becoming a Myserty Dungeon Team Leon and Hop are given a small house to stay. They don't have beds, more like one bed. And it's not exactly a bed, more like a nest. Given they're Pokémon now though it's not so bad.

Almost immediately they crawl in. Hop knows he doesn't take up much space, so he's surprised when Leon pulls him over and tucks him under his chin when he tries to lay at another end of the nest. Before he can even say anything he can hear soft content snores from the older, and he knew he was out.

Hop had to admit though, despite being practically squashed from his position it was... kind of nice too. Comforting being held so dearly and protectively. Knowing his brother he held him like this to ensure he not go do something "dangerous". Maybe even just to have him close... Hop's not sure but he finds himself too comfy to care.

He slowly closes his eyes and allowed himself to enjoy the snuggled position. He's so comfortable he could almost swear he's purring. Though he feels he must be imagining it..

Until he hears Leon return it. Much more powerful, loud, and every bit of who Lee was. He couldn't deny it was his big brother from that alone.

Apparently they can do that like Pokémon as well... Hop would have to look into that more tomorrow.

For now, he was more than happy to drift off with the lullaby of the quiet night and his brother's happy purrs lull him to sleep.

(Worked on this drawing and decided to do a quick little fic for it! These are actually the beds you get in the Mystery Dungeon Games too. Just little nests. In the newer game they change up the house depending on typing but they don't have one for dark types, so I went the simple route! I tried to add more texturing to this to make it look softer too!)

Sword and Shield is so silly man. Your friend's brother (the champion) is mildly late to taking you two out for a celebratory dinner. Instead of just deciding, 'well Leon is the champion, and he tends to be busy, especially during the busiest time of the year for the league, so maybe we should just shelf the dinner until further notice,' THIS is what happens next:

The secretary of the chairman shows up, and immediately starts taunting two children about it.

She proceeds to challenge two children to a petty game where they have to run around London and beat up people from the chairman's company.

You start an impromptu concert in the biggest train station in Galar.

THEN you break into the main tower of Macro Cosmos in the dead of night.

Hijack an elevator in this building.

While you're waiting to get to the top, have a talk with your rival about how you crushed his hopes and dreams by beating him in front of millions literally less than three hours ago (okay that's an HC but it probably does happen. Hop is shown talking to you as you go up the elevator.)

Beat up more people.

Get to the top of the tower and are challenged by the secretary who is incredibly pissed off that you won the game she challenged you to.

Beat her ass

After ALL of this, Leon is completely fine. He's having a mildly creepy talk with Rose. But nothing is wrong lmao. And then you and Hop show up after wreaking havoc through half of Wyndon and he's like, 'haha sorry i was late' and you leave??? And there is no repercussions for anything anyone did??? And no one ever comes back to this???

I love Sword and Shield. I'm biased. It was my first Pokemon game. But seriously what were the writers on 🥀.
