In my quest to create the world's most pointless graph, I have plotted how some of my favourite bands varied the amount of words in their album titles over times

Individual bands under cut

We start with Sparks.

Some vague trends are visible, but extremely messy data

Next the Cure.

Once again vague patterns, but hard to put a line of best fit on

Talking heads

showing a clear decline over time. The next logical step was to release an album with no title at all. No wonder they broke up

Echo and the Bunnymen:

Pretty consistently short but with one massive spike (1999's What the hell are you doing with your life if you're curious)

David Bowie

Vague but definite downward slope here

Bowie's buddy Bolan: It's T. Rex!

I'll be honest I just added this one bc I thought it would be funny to see the mega album title plotted

and finally the Pet Shop Boys:
