I'm so fascinated by the nature of hyperfixations because no matter how many times it happens I'll always be as lost and confounded about it as ever before that. It's like I can't believe this is what I'm going through (has gone through exactly this on at least 11 different occasions in recent memory)

#and this (i wanna call it) first real key phase of it is the most disorienting one and invloves the biggest amounts of personal struggle #why do i suddenlt get kinda nervous every time this thing gets alluded to in any form anywhere thats dumb. feels embarrassing to even admit #and this is also when the asking myself 'why this of all things' gets to a very serious point. because truly. why this #i mean besides the obvious 'it simply caught my interest and it was still very normal at that point but for some reason that didn't last'#another thing is that it's always so funny how innocuously it starts. every time. and i might even spend some days or weeks #just telling myself with full conviction that nooo thats just a normal interest i'd know if it wasn't! cause it feels different when it is!#and then one day i wake up and think about it again. and stop in my tracks and say (very softly): 'wait. oh no.'#and also it's crucial to note that when i'm somewhere at this phase of things. i should still have the power to be able to stop it #ive done it before. there's been at least 2 instances. when i felt a hyperfixation setting in but for whatever reason kind of left it alone #before it rlly started so then i basically forgot it for long enough that once i (funnily) *did* really get into those things months later #it was all normal style. as thought that moment of strange fascination never even happened. again it's all such a fascinating process #you truly have to catch it at that single perfect moment or it won't work like that. the album really finds you when you're ready for it #or band/musician. bcs 9 out of 10 times it's bands for me lately . i mean it does v often start with a particular album by a band though...#yay spars propaganda yay summer of 2023. and again my observation abt this happening in summer 9 out of 10 times is true still #so the big question is do i follow the call. i do love adding new bands to my roster of personal big bands i dont do it often enough tbh #and i guess i might already be at a more advanced stage of things than id like to admit. if you look at my listening since june or so #in any case i just wanted to say that being afflicted with it once more im just so forever intrigued by this entire process.#how does it work. has anyone ever studied this. seriously if not maybe they'll let me conduct a study. once i get this degree in sociology #but that's not even sociology. whatever. hyperfixating on the process of hyperfixating. metafixating.#goosepost

#goosepost #THIS WAS SO LOVELY I CAN'T EVEN. ok my live from the moon commentary (somewhat chaotic and possibly somewhat embarrassing edition):#much like at a real concert i wasn't able to fully register so may we start as it was happening so i'll have to listen again #russell's voice on reinforcements 😍 also the 1st time ever that i could actually understand the lyrics as they were sung #and wow the rerecorded backup vocals how did i never once think about how they must have done those for many of the old songs. wow #so cool to hear them. and hearing so many extra blips and swirls and sounds in the synth accompaniment on AAP for the 1st time ever too #the beat the clock falsettos 😭❤️ 'thank you. and please don't fuck up my world?' <- when did he say this❓️#oh my i never once mentioned looking forward to the live version of this song have i. it was so everything the beautiful extended version #finally properly released. when hotel 4 the fab started i cheered and went YESSSS much like i'd do hearing it in real life #those instrumental parts MAN. hardest shit i've ever heard in my life /srs. also appreciating all the lil elements like the bassline #on the bridge and such all over again. and now i'm also serious when i say this that i nearly cried during suburban homeboy #just something hit me about it idk what it was about ron and his amazing ron speaks delivery but suddenly all i was thinking was just #WOW I LOVE SPARKS. i was having some kind of moment about it all by the time russell came on i was just so excited and happy LOL #AND ALSO: 1) we got a ron chant onto an official sparks release good job everyone 2) the scream when ron says 'one freak bitch' 😭😭😭#and then all you ever etc. was so awesome nothing else to add. I LOVE YOU DROWNED IN A SEA OF TEARS LIVE #this was everything ive ever wanted from it. and how did i never ever hear this kind of choir-like sound on jansport??? it is SO nice #that entire my way bridge was poetry. and now yes i know i disrespect this song a lot but i'm slowly changing (haha) my way(s) (haha)#i need to finally admit that its so excellent live. nothing to say abt no 1 song other than i love everyone & the entire world is beautiful #THIS TOWN SO FIRE 🔥 how does russell do all that. THE GIRL IS CRYING SO FIRE ALSO 🔥 i love how russell says the 'alright. here we gouuu'#not gonna play it cool about it so i'll just admit that i mightve cried a lil bit during all that. yeah #also i was kind of involuntarily picturing my first show (london) when listening to this if you wanna know. hashtag feelings.#i wonder if and how many recordings were from that show. surely at least one or a few more must have been from it.....!#& wow this flew past much like an actual show would. ok is that all. well my one regret is that we couldn't hear the audience clapping along #at the clap along heavy moments because those were so important to the feeling of seeing those songs #couldn't tell when the ron shuffle happened... but still wow thank you sparks for this gift #also tour resumes in less than a week did you know this

Sent my (cartoon universe) Sparks into space on the same day that there's a (partial) solar eclipse happening AND ALSO it's the peak day of meteor showers this year... it's a true astronomical Ron's birthday miracle

#i forgot about the eclipse even though it was our epic plan once to actually go see the FULL ECLIPSE!#in fact. yes. a year ago or more we thoought. hey epic idea. let's just go to spain and see this it will be awesome #but mostly due to the location of where you could actually see it and how much that would cost to get there and such #the idea eventually died a natural death. and idk anymore if i ever alluded to the epic 2026 summer adventure idea on here #but if i did. well that's what happened with it. but beacuse of that we had a free schedule for the summer basically #so instead i was able to negotiate for a double spars tour experience in the end. not a bad trade-off if you ask me !#but yeah even then. partial eclipse. since we kind of forgot it we also didn't have the glasses you need to actually be able to see-SEE it #but i went to a field with my mum to see what it looks like anyway so then i proceeded to lie to myself that i can see it's darker #than it would normally be at this hour so that meant i was truly observing the eclipse. even though it was literally sunset already #but maybe it was still darker despite the sunset... also one word on the meteor shower beacuse i have this one memory #from 4 or maybe even 5 years ago when i was watching that and that was basically the last time i did that #so. much like with the balloons happening every year and me missing that. i also kept forgetting about the meteor showers #but THIS YEAR i'm putting an end to that! so yeah that one time i thought i'd listen to apollo 18 the album when watching the sky outside #because that would be both awesome and thematically fitting. 'see the constellation ride across the sky'? YEAH!#so today i'm doing that again that's my atronomical promise. also it seems that thing from 2 days ago was indeed just a moment of weakness #and not a brand new start of yet another decline and fall of me. i feel normal again it's all gonna be ok I THINK #goosepost #OH WAIT there was also the reflection of the slightly-crescent sun in my phone camera. so i knew it was real #(the eclipse i mean)
