Sent my (cartoon universe) Sparks into space on the same day that there's a (partial) solar eclipse happening AND ALSO it's the peak day of meteor showers this year... it's a true astronomical Ron's birthday miracle
#i forgot about the eclipse even though it was our epic plan once to actually go see the FULL ECLIPSE!#in fact. yes. a year ago or more we thoought. hey epic idea. let's just go to spain and see this it will be awesome#but mostly due to the location of where you could actually see it and how much that would cost to get there and such#the idea eventually died a natural death. and idk anymore if i ever alluded to the epic 2026 summer adventure idea on here#but if i did. well that's what happened with it. but beacuse of that we had a free schedule for the summer basically#so instead i was able to negotiate for a double spars tour experience in the end. not a bad trade-off if you ask me !#but yeah even then. partial eclipse. since we kind of forgot it we also didn't have the glasses you need to actually be able to see-SEE it#but i went to a field with my mum to see what it looks like anyway so then i proceeded to lie to myself that i can see it's darker#than it would normally be at this hour so that meant i was truly observing the eclipse. even though it was literally sunset already#but maybe it was still darker despite the sunset... also one word on the meteor shower beacuse i have this one memory#from 4 or maybe even 5 years ago when i was watching that and that was basically the last time i did that#so. much like with the balloons happening every year and me missing that. i also kept forgetting about the meteor showers#but THIS YEAR i'm putting an end to that! so yeah that one time i thought i'd listen to apollo 18 the album when watching the sky outside#because that would be both awesome and thematically fitting. 'see the constellation ride across the sky'? YEAH!#so today i'm doing that again that's my atronomical promise. also it seems that thing from 2 days ago was indeed just a moment of weakness#and not a brand new start of yet another decline and fall of me. i feel normal again it's all gonna be ok I THINK#goosepost#OH WAIT there was also the reflection of the slightly-crescent sun in my phone camera. so i knew it was real#(the eclipse i mean)
