DISCIPLINE AND DISCERNMENT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE
(28/365) sing us a song, you’re the piano man
Ira Grünberger
Puerto Vallarta, 1979
Losing is hard. It infects confidence with a virus, steadily withering away at it’s potency, and success is not truly possible without confidence. But a way to survive losing is to get fed up. Anger can be an antidotal. In turn let that anger be your tool. Fuel & flame to seek ways to stop the agony of defeat. To not become numb to any supposed inevitabilities. The fight is within. Fight from within. Against complacency. Against your own limitations. A war against the wasps in your chest, the purportedly endless sinkhole in your belly & any pain in your heart. Battle against the trappings of your own mind. That is how you triumph over the seemingly insurmountable. Restoring confidence by adapting in unfamiliar waters, threading through. Confidence is not only calcified but amplified by repetition. So chop the wood, carry the water.
There’s no such thing as fair, only survival or surrender. And surrender leads to shame. Shame leads to betrayal of self. To love yourself, sometimes that is best measured by the forgiveness only you can grant yourself. To love & to win.
"By thinking so much, I became echo and abyss. By delving within, I made myself into many."
— Fernando Pessoa, from The Book of Disquiet
