Jack studied him, recognized him well enough, decided he’d pretend not to care. "Relax," he smirked. "I’m not here on business. And if I’d wanted to hunt, I wouldn’t have came prepared for a petting zoo."

"Forgive me if I find that hard to believe," Cain muttered, standing very much the way a trained soldier stood.  Out of habit, not out of respect.  Cain had no love for anyone from Gilboa.  While that country thrived, his own was suffering.  "Then why are you here?"

"Really?  Here I thought we who live in Gath were, what was it?  Brutish, and like animals."

"Because it’s the polite and proper thing to do. Or is Gath so barbaric that something like that escapes you?"

"Gath is not barbaric.  Militaristic yes.  Just because we do not have the finer things that you in Gilboa have does not make us barbarians.  But you have had me sign ten non disclosure agreements, gone through security three times, yet still I am being treated like the enemy."
