For a reinterpretation of Darth Vader that’s less Death Star and more down-to-earth, Devin Kelly (@avaderaday) paints a softer side of the dark side. “I feel there’s a deeper and realistic emotional level to him. Not just the one side,” Devin, a Seattle native, says. “Yes, he made mistakes. But really, he’s just a lovable goofball.”

The same can be said of Devin, who’s posted a daily image of himself in the mask for nearly a year. Whether he’s hiking in the woods, holding a friend’s baby or getting ready for a night out with the ladies, Devin shows Vader’s positive side. “It can be difficult sometimes since he looks different from most folks, but that just drives him to get out of his comfort zone and approach people,” he says. With Devin’s Darth Vader everywhere from libraries to public parks, Seattle won’t ever be the same.
