Swiss painter, Félix Vallotton (1865-1925).
I love the mystery in his paintings. It’s like those enlarged photos in BLOW-UP (1966): you see the vague contours of something sinister. But you’re shut out, this isn’t your business. You sense the stillness of a crime scene. Clandestine meetings, lone wanderers, people disappearing in the bushes. What is that man doing in the first painting? Secretly stalking someone? The title of the painting is “The Satyr in the Bois de Boulogne”...
Do you know Mick Jagger? Yeah, which one? He’s a nice bunch of guys. It’s up to him which one you meet.
- Keith Richards, “Life”
“You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it’s all about. A deer’s gotta be taken with one shot.” The Deer Hunter (1978) dir. Michael Cimino
Ok, but what is up with my sudden attraction to young Eric Idle?
I’m rewatching Flying Circus and I just can’t get enough of his face
