I post to contribute to the blk queer internet space and initially started this acc dedicated to blk fem or queer (possibly coded) characters bc growing up *impending rant* I’ve RARELY seen ffs or content dedicated to blk characters, esp fem or queer blk characters being love interests or favorited in any way unless it was in proximity to whiteness. In recent years, I have been GREATLY surprised with the sudden uproar of blk queer fem writers and fans getting their lick back with franchises like Black Panther and Sinners, so HUGE props to that, I’m rlly proud to see us becoming more mainstream.

what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.

I’ve previously talked about how mascs and studs often times get placed in the gender gray area when it comes to our interactions with cishet people. We’re seen as too masculine to be viewed as women up until people want to dehumanize and fetishize us by making extremely gross sexual remarks to “remind” us of our womanhood. This treatment extends to how we are treated when we show any form of emotion outside of stoicism, when we aren’t the most handy when it comes to physical tasks, and when we decide to make decisions regarding our reproductive health such as family planning with our girlfriends or wives. I’ve had moments in my life where I’ve questioned my masculinity because other people didn’t view me masculine enough to be considered a stud; this caused me so much internal frustration because I felt like I had to put out more masculine attributes to gain respect from people both inside and outside of the queer community. However, as I’ve gotten older, I realize that my presentation and attributes of masculinity are unique to me as an individual and I must surround myself with people who don’t question the validity of my expression. My only hope is that younger mascs and studs come to this same realization, queerness can have some growing pains but, it’s important that we don’t minimize our places within the world and look at our gender based expression with the same harsh criticism that we often times receive from bigoted cishets. We deserve a mental and physical safe place to land and to be loved❤️

‼️PLEASE HELP A BLACK BUTCH AVOID BEING BARRED FROM SCHOOL‼️

My partner has been attending this private liberal arts college and has just finished their bachelor’s program and is now going in to their master’s at the same school. However, this school dropped a major bomb on them by giving them a bill of 3k at the very last minute partially for a semester in their bachelor’s program. The school is threatening to barre them from doing their master’s and possibly evict them as well if they don’t pay it.

My partner isn’t in the space to pay that kind of money off rip, and as many times as they have tried to appeal it, nothing has been let up. They can’t take out any private loans because they don’t have a guarantor, and none of their immediate family is in the space to be one for them—plus w/o on campus housing, they will have nowhere to else to go. They have only a couple of weeks until the bill is due, so if there’s anything you all can do to help—donations, shares, what not—any contribution is very much appreciated!
