NOVA
he can’t help the wide smile that beams across his face when he feels the fluttering against his hand; their daughter, equally as excited to meet them as they are her. he’s a little more prepared for the onslaught of emotions it brings now, not drawn to tears like he had been that very first time, but the overwhelming love that suffocates him is one of the best feelings. easy. he wouldn’t trade this life, this family, for the world. “ i think he’ll do great. ” he has to agree. he has reservations, figures that’s normal, but they’ll all be okay; he’s sure. “ they both will. just wait until they’re both teenagers, fighting over who gets to take the car. ” he cracks a smile, laughing as he steals a kiss from his wife. “ these are the easy years. crazy to think about. ”
“oh god, teenagers.” sophia laughed, putting her hand to her head. the idea of teenagers sent her into a spiral. her focus so far as been baby-proofing their home now. sophia knew she couldn’t protect them from the world. “lets not get ahead of ourselves. we still have a while before they’re driving.” she laughed again, shaking her head. “i can’t put foam bumpers on all other cars but maybe they can wear a helmet in the car.” she laughed again, this time a bit louder because she knew her suggestion wasn’t a realistic one. “easy but a lot of work for us. diapers, teething, solid foods, allergies -- okay so maybe i do worry more than i should.” she admitted shyly.

very little in this world makes him as happy as his family. he has the perfect wife, a son that makes his eyes light up every time he sees him, and another baby on the way. they’re incredibly blessed. he frequently pinches the inside of his wrist, needs confirmation that – yes, he really is this lucky. as he stands beside his wife, admiring the room that will become their daughter’s in a few short months, how fortunate he truly is is reinforced. “ no. definitely not. ” he laughs because it’s true, drops a kiss against the top of her head. “ but i’m excited. a baby girl. ” he whistles. “ i can’t wait to meet her. ” he hopes she has her mother’s eyes, and her strength. if she gets his smile, he thinks — that would be perfect. “ i wonder how our little ham is going to do. ” he looks over at noah, a soft look on his face. “ he’ll have to share the spotlight. ” until now, he’s been the center of their universe. while things are changing, all for the better, it’ll be an adjustment for the family.
even though she had given birth before it still didn’t stop the anxiety & her nerves were still there. it was a total body transformation different than anything else. sophia inhaled slowly before exhaling through her nose. “being ready is extremely hard.” she added to his comment about not being ready. “you’re right, i’m very excited as well.” she moved a hand to her belly, rubbing it before chuckling. “she knows you’re here, she’s trying to kick her way out right now -- but -- i think noah is going to do really well. i keep explaining that he’s going to have a new sibling, which means a new role for him to fill. he’s excited about being a big brother.” being a parent was a lot more complex than she originally thought but she wouldn’t trade being mom for anything. “here,” she said, grabbing his hand & putting it on her stomach where their soon to be daughter was kicking. “i remember noah doing the same thing when he heard you talking” sophia smirked.
JOAKIM
━━━━ Joakim nodded. “Oh, I should. And he can share it to his dad—might make Nova laugh,” he responded, chuckling. “That’s sounds about the right age for when they do a lot of zoomies and want to do all the things.” How Sophia manages to do all the things she does more so now than ever, was beyond him. “You’re like Supermom, juggling—is that the right word for it? Doing everything and making it look easy. And mum’s the word, but maybe go for decaf next time?” He suggested, grinning, “Mind over matter pretend it’s caffeine—I’m the usual, work is good. Would you like to sit down?” Joakim moved to the side, pulling a chair for Sophia. “My students are excited for Valentine’s Day, although one assumed it was the 1929 incident and things got morbid for a hot second.”
“oh, joakim --” she waved his compliment about her being supermom. sophia was rather modest & she figured she was doing what any other person would do. “i just try my best & sometimes i fumble but i just get back up, brush it off you know.” sophia did take the comment to heart because it was nice knowing that someone saw how much work she put into her family & her community. “i’ll get decaf next time, girl scouts honor.” she said with a laugh. the female grabbed her coffee off the counter as they called out her order. “sitting down? you don’t have to ask me twice.” sophia thanked him before sitting down in the chair that was offered to her. she placed her purse on the floor next to her leg & got comfortable in her chair, crossing her legs as she sipped her coffee. “oof, that’s a hard topic to handle in a class.” she winced, shaking her head. “isn’t that the one with capone? i mostly know about that one from the travel channel’s ghost shows. i have to admit that i do watch a fair amount of those.” a laugh escaped her before she settled down, taking another pull from her cup.
WESLEY
a quiet hum left him after her words, head shaking slightly as he really thought on it. “I don’t know, I didn’t shave my face for a month because he was really into the beard but, ehhh…” his voice fading before he looked to her with a wide smile again. “I’m joking, you’re not wrong, and thank you I’ll be sure to let everyone know I got a stamp of approval from mrs. gallo herself.” wesley went for the edge, reaching for the ceiling and working his way down. with her stature she was going to need a ladder and he sure as shit wasn’t going to be the one to let her do that. “oh that’s awesome, baby girl gallo. y’all had the baby shower already, right? if you need anyone to paint her room or put a crib together you know where to go.”
“beards can be quite tricky sometimes,” sophia said with a mischevious look before returning to her painting spot. she let the air sit still in comfortable silence. it was nice knowing that wes didn’t always need conversation. “yeah, we had the shower. nova got the painting done last weekend. he wouldn’t let me help a bit so that’s why i figured i’d help you paint, never really got the urge to paint out of my system i guess.” she laughed, dipping down to get more paint. “you know, i might take you up on that crib offer. nova has been busy with work -- which i don’t mind, i know his job demands a lot but i also want him to be able to relax so with the crib being out of the way, that would help a lot.”
JOAKIM
━━━━ Joakim smiled when Sophia acknowledged him. Mrs. Gallo, that is. “Excellent—ready?” He asked, adding, “What do you call a cow that can play a musical instrument?” Ah, yes, the cheesiest jokes a middle schooler can come up with. “A moo-sician.” He let that hung in the air for a moment, shaking his head in amusement. “How’s little Noah?” He’s going to ask about the baby, too. But one query at a time. “And how are you?”
even though it was a simple joke it still made sophia laugh. “ a moo-sician, that’s clever. you’ll have to teach that to noah.” she said with a grin no her face. “noah’s great. he’s almost two, so our house is never dull.” she was fond of joakim, of almost everyone in beaver creek. “me? oh you know,” she wanted to brush the common question to the side but she felt he was genuine in his converse. “well, i’m well, i’m on my planning period at work & sometimes you just need a little pick me up -- don’t tell nova i’ve had caffeine though,” she said,w winking at the other. “--and you joakim?”
「 @ofsurvivals 」
adoration was the only way to explain the way sophia was looking at nova. they were facing another baby. which meant long; sleepless nights, double the diaper changes & what they’re currently facing the nursery. “i still can’t believe she’ll be here so soon.” sophia whispered softly, nuzzling into nova’s side, her arm around him. she smiled, looking at the freshly painted room. even with some of the things in boxes still, it was calming her knowing that baby girl gallo had a place in their home already. she looked towards the hallway where noah was babbling, playing on a blanket with some times. her life was absolutely perfect. “you ready, babe?” she asked, looking up at nova.
WESLEY
“man if that isn’t the fucking truth right there,” wes smiled, though, if he were being completely honest, every fight was worth it. “things you do for love, I guess.” he said with a soft shrug, it’s then his eyes fall to her belly, brows furrowing as he pointed. “I totally meant that for your husband, I know I’m dumb sometimes but swear I’m not brain dead.” he popped the cap of the paint and poured some into the rolling pan as she asked, another shrug. “ah, it was between this and a maroon, we were fighting about it for a couple of days but then he won the bet. plus the egg shell isn’t all that bad.” his attention drawing back to her now. “do you guys know what you’re having yet? where is little noah I thought he’d be helping too.”
“the things we do for love sometimes turn out to be the best memories we have of the relationship.” sophia added, she laughed softly & looked down at her belly. “oh, i don’t think you’re dumb or brain dead. i actually think you’re very intelligent.” she said seriously. sophia went to the trimming, painting delicately to make sure she didn’t go over the tape. “maroon would’ve been beautiful but you’re right, eggshell isn’t bad for this room.” his next question put a smile on her face & she let the room be silent for a few seconds, soaking up the situation. “a girl, we found out a few weeks ago. we don’t have any names yet so it’s just baby girl gallo for now.”
rafaelrescued:
“Of course I’m enjoying my day off,” Raf said with a wry grin. “I’ve got it all scheduled out into one hour blocks, accounting for travel time. At 6 am I took a run by the river, at 7 I prepped a breakfast... then I watched a bit of television, which is pretty indulgent, but that was only until 8 because I needed to run a few errands around town. Later, I’ll catch a documentary. I’m living my best life. Efficiently.”
@manorstart
“wow, uh--” she said, trying to take in that type of lifestyle. she knew everyone wasn’t as laid back as her & her husband. “--that seems, extensive.” she laughed slightly out of being a little nervous. “you should maybe, just a suggestion, maybe, just let yourself do whatever you want for however long you want? it might help you relax a little more.” sophia adjusted in her chair before leading forward slightly. “actually -- i’m going to the farmer’s market soon, you should tag along, break your schedule of.. relaxation.” her last word was a little difficult to say but she truly wanted him to experience a day off without having a rigid schedule. “you could buy something & learn to cook something new?” she suggested.
MADISON
“everyone keeps telling me my wedding day will be the greatest day of my life but no one’s talking about how nice the engagement can be. what’s so wrong with not wanting to rush it?” madison asked, glancing down at the ring nestled perfectly on her finger. she was excited to get married, she didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea, it was just nice to bask in the engagement glow for awhile. when things happened, they would happen. “plus, it’s going to be very hard to beat the day i won that giant teddy bear at the beaver creek fair when i was twelve as the greatest day of my life.” she added with a laugh.

“oh honey,” sophia started, her smile growing as she looked at the ring on the female’s finger. “i think it’s easy to jump from the engagement to the wedding, especially for those who are not getting married.” sophia leaned down, moving to grab madison’s hand. “-- do you mind?” she asked, taking the other’s fingers gently within her own, turning it to see the light catch the ring. “it’s honestly, so beautiful.” sophia pulled back with a loud exhale, her hand going to her pregnant stomach. “i say, do whatever you want. sometimes long engagements make the wedding even more special. engagements & weddings are so personal & show how much we love the person we’re saying vows to, there is no timeline on love.” sophia also chuckled with madison when she mentioned winning the teddy bear. “hopefully your wedding tops that day.”
JOAKIM

━━━━ “Hey, you,” Joakim greeted, smiling as he sees the other. Currently waiting for his hot drink to-go, he was glad to see a familiar face. “Want to hear a music joke?” It wasn’t original and certainly wasn’t his—he even asked for permission to share it. After all, they’ve had a discussion in class regarding creativity rights. “I swear it’s wholesome,” Joakim added, “Eagle scout’s honor.”
sophia was running errands on her planning period. she knew that it was a little wrong but she had a lot to do with having an almost two-year-old and another on the way. she hadn’t had caffeine in months because of the baby but she had convinced herself that one cup of coffee wouldn’t hurt baby girl gallo. “joakim,” sophia said fondly, pleased with seeing someone familiar, although it wasn’t hard in this town. “i would absolutely love to hear a music joke.” sophia said with a grin.

“thank you for stopping by, I know it’s a weird request trust me but, I wanted to try and get this room done before valentines. theo’s always complaining that we never have anywhere nice to eat when it’s holidays or something. that’s usually when I remind him that we don’t even do holiday parties and it becomes a whole fight,” wesley rattled off, waving his hand around as he reached for the paint, “but, with one last coat of paint, this room will be finished and he’ll get off my back.” his smile grew as he held a brush out to the other. “promise, I’ll pay you in a freshly cooked meal or an open bar tab.”
sophia let herself be a listening ear when wes kept talking about his relationship. she wanted the other to know that they could vent & complain all they want with her. “relationships can be stressful” she added, adjusting the clasp on her overalls. “-- but the fact that you’re doing something for him, i’m guessing, would mean a lot to him.” her voice was calming, like honey slowly rolling out of the bottle. “i’m not sure i’d be so good for the bar tab but--” she looked down, her belly protruding from pregnancy. “-- but i’m sure my husband would love that.” she chuckled, grabbing the brush from him. “why’d you guys pick this color?”
introducing... sophia gallo, now the perfect wife, mother and teacher.
sophia was born and raised in beaver creek. she had an idyllic childhood. mother and father raised her with love and care. she spent time at her grandparents. the holidays were full of cheer and love. her parents raised her to be a kind, loving, and respectable citizen of beaver creek. soon after graduating high school she met nova gallo. the two fell for each other quickly and while it raised some eyebrows from people around town, the two became the ideal couple of beaver creek. not long after their marriage they had a child named noah gallo. currently, sophia’s husband, nova, is a first responder for the town and sophia is mostly known as mrs. gallo. she teaches at the local preschool. she’s currently 6 and half months pregnant with her and nova’s second child and they know it’s going to be a little girl. their life is a classic image of perfect suburbia.

“Hold on, walk me through the process,” Marcus said, genuinely interested but without tact. “You meet someone, and you spend, what, a few years spending quality time and all. And then one day you look at each other and decide, yes, let’s commit to the rest of our lives already. Like, be together. A lot. For the forseeable future. Cuz he’s the One? So you put a ring on it? Immediately? Is that how it worked for you? Because I like lots of people but never that much.”
“a few years?” sophia couldn’t help but giggle. while his set up seemed like the logical way to go about marriage. there was nothing logical about the way nova & sophia ended up being married. “i mean, i suppose.” she said after moving her hand away from her mouth. “for me, it was more like three months & i knew he was the one. we got married after three months. we’re here for our honeymoon.” she beamed with happiness. “so yeah, that’s kinda how it worked for me. i guess i like nova that much. is that weird?”
okie dokie friends, sophia needs some new threads. that's in part why i haven’t been super active because i have nothing to reply to. so consider this an official plotting/starter call and if you want a random starter, like this post! if you want to plot with me, my discord is “the true crime whore#5132″, minus the quotation marks.
