Micah should have known that just stopping by before a real night out would have landed him behind the bar, suckered into cocktail experimentation and entertaining guests. But, he wasnât going to do it without company. Enter Sophie. âCome on now, I always miss you,â he insisted, giving her a grin. âWell, this is for the blonde over there,â Micah explained, pointing down the bar to a girl with a flirty wave, âwho could only ask for something fruity. But I can duplicate it. Or make you something else, special as you call it. Your call.â
Sophie feigned shock, always the one for dramatics, she grasped her chest pretending to be hurt. âI canât believe you didnât wait for me before you served others.â Turning to the girl in question, she didnât hesitate before saying, âheâs married.â Chuckling to herself, she leaned closer to the bar, a sly grin present on her face. âIâm the worst, I know. Thatâs why we are besties. Please make me a special drink, preferably with an umbrella in it.â
