This was decidedly not a date. Ryan had the mantra repeating in his head over and over again as he got buttoned up his shirt. There are to be no hanky-panky when it comes to Tina tonight, they were just two friends. Friends go on platonic dates, right? Right. Ryan felt like his mind was pushing and pulling into all the different directions. Tina had always have this effect on him, making him lose all sense of control. Tying the bowtie around his neck, Ryan stared at his own reflection for a good few minutes. 

There’s nothing to worry about, it’s just Tina. ‘Just Tina’ -- as if Tina was ever ‘just’ anything. Relenting to his own subconscious, he knew tonight was going to end up hurting him more than help. How was he supposed to try and not be in love with Tina when he can’t even go a day without talking to her? Maybe I really ought to take a vacation somewhere, maybe I should go home. He mused to himself. Sighing deeply again, Ryan pulled his suit jacket off the back of a chair and headed out to pick up Tina. Arriving at her door, he rapped his knuckles on the frame and waited patiently. Remember, not a date.

LOCATION: Tina’s bedroom

Hunter had fallen asleep at some point with the tv on in his room.  He woke up like normal, before sunbreak ready to get up and go for a run.  Something felt a little off and he realized Tina hadn’t actually woken him.  Once he stretched out his kinks, Hunter pulled on a pair of athletic shorts and tank top, and went to brush his teeth before going for a run.  As he passed by Tina’s room, he noticed the door ajar and no real sign of his roommate.  He stopped and knocked on the door softly, “Tina?”

“I thought you might appreciate this place because it’s almost reasonable, when you consider you are buying actual designer fashions.  If nothing else, it will give us an idea as to styles to look for elsewhere,” Mia winked at Tina, lowering her voice on the last part.  “I figure we can start here, get some ideas and move on to a price point that might fit better. I know that dropping a ton of cash on a dress you might only wear a couple of times is not exactly fun.”   She held open the boutique’s door.  “Also their collection of accessories is stellar.”

LOCATION: outside the apartments.

WARNINGS: just some pure awkwardness. 

Sophie exhaled loudly as she exited the apartments building, briskly making her way down the street. What in the world was she thinking? Sleeping with her ex was one thing, but doing it right as they were starting to establish a friendship? It was completely unnecessary, and it was only going to complicate everything. It’s no wonder why people question her story times. There is no reason as to why she makes such rash decisions all the time. Still, she hoped that Ryan was on the same page as her because she did not want to have another awkward conversation with him. Rounding the corner, Sophie spotted a familiar silhouette making her way towards her. This is so not happening. There is no possible way that Tina could be coming towards her with a coffee cup in hand. “Tina, hey!” Sophie stopped in her tracks making room for her on the sidewalk. “I was just about to get coffee too. What a coincidence.”

With her head held between her hands, Gail let out a long and guttural groan. “I hate my life.” She said after a pause. “Kill me, Nat. Just kill me now and end my suffering.”

Micah was glad to have a Saturday night off. Despite being part time, the popularity of his concoctions typically put him on the schedule for busy nights. Supply and demand, or something like that. However, even with the night off, he stopped by to grab a drink - pregame for free. Spotting Gail on a stool near the on duty tender was far from a surprise, but he took the seat next to her regardless. Greeting his coworker and ordering a beer before turning to her, he raised a curious eyebrow. “Drowning sorrows or celebrating tonight?”

Natalie didn’t frequent the bar on the IHQ campus. She was far from a heavy drink, except when out with Gail, and she typically preferred to actually go out for her drinks. But after a particularly hard day at work - why did everyone pick Mondays to be difficult? - she wanted a drink and then her pajamas and a few hours of nonsense TV to unwind. She signed her receipt and tucked her card away before reaching for her glass and looking around. Spotting Mia, she gave the girl a smile. “Come here often?” she asked teasingly.

Beth had always been careful when it came to alcohol. She knew that since her parents were alcoholics at one point, it’s very likely that she could easily become one as well. But today, she just really needed it. Sitting by the bar, she sipped daintily at her martini. “Do you ever think sometimes men are just all around terrible? They bait you in with their pretty words and time-limited gentlemen-like actions, but then the moment they trapped you down, they just --” She shrugged and gave a small head tilt. “You know?”
