So, which one is your favourite by now? Or do you want to test them again? I get it, though, sometimes, and especially, when you’re new somewhere, cooking is the last thing on your mind. 

I think I’m going to have to try them all again before I start making any favorites. I’ve had a few I’ve really enjoyed. Gotta make sure they have other choices I enjoy too. I can only eat the same thing from a place so many times. I don’t mind cooking but I don’t really love cooking just for myself, so this seemed to be the best option.

Pretend Cooking Show | Alex and Sophie

Alex knew that things were still a little rough for Sophie, but with the road trip, 4th of July festivities and now his bandmates invited themselves to stay for a while, he had little time for his friend and felt bad about it. So he easily invited her over to cook dinner with the bunch of them. There was already mess of groceries, cans of La Croix and people in the kitchen and Alex didn’t hear the knock on the door. His dogs did though and Rian went to calm them down and get the door. A grin was spread on the drummer’s lips as he spotted Sophie and stepped aside so she could enter the house. “Come on in, Alex is in the kitchen..so is everyone else.” It wasn’t just Zack and Jack in the kitchen with the singer, a few of their friends who were always involved in them recording anything were there too, and of course Ashley was there to snap pictures, take videos and really just capture their whole working process. Now she was sitting on top of a counter and waved at the new guest. “Seriously why did nobody remember to bring me a chef hat? I should really have one!” Alex complained, but started grinning when he spotted his friend. “You didn’t bring me one of those hats either? Damn it, Soph, I was counting on you!”

While things hadn’t been easy, she knew that she could only mope for so long. Thankfully going to therapy almost every day was helping again. Finding herself slowly slipping into that dark space was something she was terrified of. Being on Thrones had put her in a scary place, somewhere she had no intentions of going back to and with all the drinking she had been doing, she was headed there. Thankfully, she was slowly on the mend. Not perfect, but managing. She’d make it work. It’d take time, she had to be patient with herself, and stop blaming herself for every damn thing. A sweet smile tugged to her lips upon seeing Rian, she had never met the man before, but he was as attractive as she had seen in photos. “Thanks.” she slipped inside, sliding off her sandals before making her way towards the kitchen. The house seemed a little chaotic but it was welcomed, it was so much better then her quiet home. Raising a brow she shook her head, “You didn’t tell me to bring you a chef hat, you’re a big boy, go buy your own.” she retorted rolling her eyes. “No whining or I won’t make my famous chocolate dessert, or better yet, I’ll make it and let everyone else have some and you have to watch.” Sophie teased as she set her bag and camera down. “Think the internet will go a bit crazy if we post this online?”

Pretend Cooking Show | Alex and Sophie

Sophie wasn’t one to cook, sure, she could, but it wasn’t something she did often. Actually, if you could see her bank statement, half the time she was eating out. It was too depressing to cook for one person in her mind, and with dealing with therapy appointments, she didn’t want to undo the little bit of progress she was making. When Alex offered to have her over to cook dinner with him and some of his bandmates, she wasn’t going to say no. Free food. Even joking they could make some random cooking video for youtube. Send the fandoms colliding together. After all, it’d be the first time she’d be spotted after her split with Joe Jonas. Grabbing her camera, she headed to Alex’s home, dressed in simple cut off jean short shorts and a simple plain blank tank top, her blonde hair pulled back into a loose, messy bun. Arriving at the place she knocked while waiting for the man to let her in, not sure who of the band was there. @awgcreature

I’m pretty sure the last two weeks all I’ve consumed is take out from a different place each night. When should I be worried that my eating habits are anything but healthy?

[Text-Alex] Ok, when I was gone for a week I knew you might not be happy with me but I've been back in Royal for two days now and I really thought you would have been a LITTLE more enthusiastic! 🙁

[ text ] Sorry mate. I’ve just been a bit busy. I found a therapist close by to start therapy appointments up again. Nothing major but I’ve just been kind of working through all that stuff.

And here I thought a real queen was supposed to come in with pomp and circumstance? Do you know what I did? I simply didn’t unpack, at all… I was busy filming Kingsman, and I left my place as it was, until someone sent in a crew to unpack for me. Okay, coffee first, I see you have your priorities right!

Left my crown back in Winterfell so I couldn’t go making a scene. Wouldn’t be proper without the crown. Why didn’t I think of that? Could have just had someone unpack for me. That would have been bloody brilliant. Coffee is what’s gonna keep me up on my feet to give you a hug!

I have learned that along the way, but I think the Scotsmen and women I know have been indulging me, because I looked very lost trying to understand. I might have even asked one, if he was having a stroke. French is lovely, but so hard? I keep mixing things up… I dated a Portuguese for a while, and that’s one melodious language, like Spanish only smoother. Oh dear, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone speak it? It sounds like something out of a fantasy saga?

Get them all flustered and you’ll see how confusing they can be. I’ve heard them rattle on and it’s impossible once you get them going. Though I’ve gotten used to it now that it’s second nature. Oh dear. Then again, I can understand why you might think that. French is beautiful, and I know a few basic things, enough for when I visit, but not to have a full out conversation. It’s ... hard to explain but I think that’s half the appeal, that it sounds like it’d be out of a fantasy or royal time. I don’t even know if I could find someone to teach me, I’d have to probably just go to Ireland and have locals teach me the ways.

Being in Scotland, I realised that I need to work on my Scottish comprehension skills - a lot! If you could learn a language right now, which one would it be?

Scotch is always a bit hard but the more you’re around it, the easier it gets, you know? If I could learn any language? I can speak spanish but I’ve always wanted to learn French better then the little bit I know. As for a dream language, Gaeilge would be the one. Irish.

I snuck in late one night without detection and have been hiding in my place since then. You know, the glamor of unpacking. Ugh, yes coffee. Though I’d love a hug! But I really need coffee right now, before I fall asleep standing up.

I’m not going to be surprised if she shows up here and the two of you start ganging up on me just like the good old days. The truth, because I’d be able to see through your fake story, I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re lying. Thank god for that, my hunting down skills aren’t the best. I feel that, even if I haven’t been someone’s fiance I have been through some pretty bad breakups. You’ll get there, it takes a lot of time and healing and wallowing in self-pity but you’ll get there. That’s why everyone calls me Richie, or Dickie, or my Mum’s favourite… Little Dick. Richie is the better out of all of them. She is badass, Robb is proud. My excuses are usually very terrible too, so there’s that.  A bigass star, but I still reply to the Stark WhatsApp chat that we have going. I missed you to, but no getting smug over it. You can call me Richie and dinner is a done deal the second I touch back down in town. 

I hope so! I mean what better fun was there? Plus you loved it no matter how much you protested. And having Maisie here will help a lot, just in general. Would you? I’ve had a few years to practice since you were last on set with us. It’d be pointless anyway, what’s the point. Can’t make someone want you if they don’t. Failed engagement by twenty three isn’t something I was hoping to accomplish in life but I guess hey, I can only go up from here. Wallowing, yes  an over abundance of alcohol, you know. Same thing. Yes well I call you it because you’ve always been Richie to me, not out of spite or to drive you crazy and I refuse to call you little dick that’s just weird. I’m really proud of my babe, she got what she always wanted. True, like if you’re gonna do that, at least be good at dishing out the excuses. Make it a challenge. You have to, no matter how big your career or head gets, you’ll always be a Stark first. Come on, let me have my smug moment. Good! Holding you to it, it’s a done deal.

“Yeah. Let’s do it,” Alex said easily. He knew he had to sleep at some point. But coffee was his best friend these days anyway, and he wouldn’t just leave a friend in this mess. “Take your time in wallowing,” the man said, eyes locked on her with concern now. “But don’t close yourself off, alright? I’m there for you. Call me in the middle of the night, and I’ll be here, or just talk to you,” he offered with a smile and then nodded at her words. He understood she didn’t want everyone to know she was struggling, and he wouldn’t be the one running around telling people. “I got you, don’t worry. This is between you and I.” The more Sophie talked, and seemed to blame herself for how things ended with her and Joe, the bigger was the urge Alex felt to kick the guy’s ass. “He’s an idiot for leaving you, Sophie. Don’t know what he decided to not want you anymore, but like I said, it’s his loss.” When she talked about people kissing other people, and her kissing Maisie, the man smirked. “Let’s just go with kissing and making out is actually hot, no matter who kisses who.” He playfully rolled his eyes at her. “Sharing is fun though. It actually sounds better if we say /we’re/ sharing all of this food. Because that’s simply what it is.”

“Fine but if I injure myself unpacking after drinking I’m blaming you.” Sophie quipped before shifting, “But I’m finishing eating first.” she said before taking another bite of the burger in her hand. “I wasn’t shutting myself off... okay maybe I was a little but it’s embarrassing. Plus I mean... it’s weird now that the people I know are now ex-coworkers. It was different when we were on set, if we were struggling you know? Now it feels like I don’t know.. I can’t figure out how it feels... like maybe we’re not that family anymore.” That was always the fear, them going their own ways and not having each other anymore. Which is why Sophie had been keeping her struggles tucked behind closed doors with just herself. Giving a soft shrug, “I don’t know.. I feel like that’s all I can say anymore, you’d think I’d hate him you know? That I’d hate Joe for hurting me but I still love him. It sucks. Love sucks. Why do people do this to themselves?” she said before taking a sip of her water. “Making out is definitely better than kissing though. But glad you agree and aren’t getting all weird on me. Some guys get so weird if a girl talks about that stuff.” she shrugged. “Fine if it’ll make you that happy, we’re sharing.”

“Then I say let’s do it. Let’s get you unpacked as soon as possible. Preferably before I go on that road trip that I still have to pack for at some point,” he said with a nod. “We could do it right now, sleep is for the weak anyway.” Alex raised an eyebrow and looked at her. “It’s tough to feel unhappy when you know you’ve got things to be grateful for. I get that. You feel down, and sad, but you’re still thankful for where you are in life or what you get to do, and then you just get mad at yourself for feeling so low when you shouldn’t be feeling that way. It’s a spiral that’s hard to get out of.” Over the years, Alex himself had experienced that often. He could have really dark days where life seemed incredibly crappy, and then he’d seefans tweeting to him, and he knew he should’ve been happy and thankful… and that just made him feel worse. “Stop it, okay? Don’t ever think you’re not good enough.” Alex sighed. “What the hell?” The man laughed. “Don’t be such a creep!” He playfully rolled his eyes. “So you’re saying, if I gave you all the food for you to keep, you wouldn’t share any of it with me and let me starve instead?”

“I probably won’t sleep anytime soon.” Sophie shrugged, “so I mean if you really want to.” she wasn’t going to turn down free help to attempt to get her mess of a life back together. “That’s the thing, I think everyone has things they can be grateful for, even in shit times, but sometimes you have to wallow in said times. I don’t know how long it’s going to take me to be okay this time around.” Sophie admitted out loud, she knew she was struggling and had Alex not shown up who knows how long she would have continued to hide it from everyone. “Can.. can we keep this between you and I?” she asked, “I know you’re going away with Emilia and I don’t want anyone to know... I -- I’m not ready.” she admitted, plus as much as she loved the older woman it wasn’t like they were super close either, they were friends but it wasn’t like how Maisie and her had been. “Can’t help it, if I was, wouldn’t he have stayed? Fought for me?” she asked not really looking for an answer just rambling off what was in her head. “What? Boys kissing boys are hot, girls kissing girls are hot. Guys kissing girls are hot, really I’m equal opportunity.” she said, “Plus Rian’s good looking.” she shrugged. “I mean Maisie and I used to make out on set when we got bored so like... nothing new.” Sophie said. “No I wouldn’t let you starve, but how about we just go with you’re sharing with me. Sounds better.”

“You know what, I might actually have to do that. It /is/ driving me that crazy,” Alex said with an amused chukle leaving his lips. “Yeah, you can scream it out loud if you want to. Acknowledge the crappiness of life, then smile through it and things will start looking up eventually,” Alex offered. “I know it’s tough when things change so much and don’t turn out the way you want them to or picture them. I mean, have I thought I’d marry my highschool prom date ten years later only to have that marriage end after two years? Hell no,” the man said. “I know it hurts. And it’s okay to feel that hurt and be sad and crummy. There’s always going to be people out there who judge you about where you are in life, but they don’t matter. And life shrows shit at you, and it won’t stop doing that, but you can push through.” He put an arm around her to give her a side hug, before shifting a little to make it easier to reach for more of the food from the table. “You wanna see me and Rian kiss?” the man smirked. “I’m sorry about disappointing you, but we only do things in the dark,” he joked. “Actually, this is all my food that I bought and brought, so technically, we’re sharing all of it.”

“It might actually motivate me to get things done. I’ve always been a procrastinator anyway, this is just... far worse then usual.” It was true, she needed to get things settled, maybe if the house wasn’t so jumbled she’d start feeling better. Less out of place. “I think like most people I don’t handle change well, let alone so much change happening at once. You know? It’s just a lot. I feel like I have all this pressure on me to just be happy, to be grateful for what I do have that when I feel like this I feel worse.” she admitted. “I mean I’m twenty three years old, already had a failed engagment, that doesn’t look good for me in the long run.” she sighed, “I’m trying not to be angry at Joe, he’s allow to make his own decisions and if I’m not the one for him, who am I to say he’s wrong?” Her eyes fell closed for a minute, “It just makes you wonder why I’m not good enough.” she said softly. “Eh you know, two guys kissing can be really hot.” she shrugged, not even caring about her words, “I mean I can get night vision goggles if needed. I’m not opposed to being a creeper.” she said as she shifted over, “Yes but you are choosing to share with me, not the other way around.” Sophie said giving a soft chuckle.

“You know things can’t find a proper home if you keep them locked in boxes though, right?” Alex playfully rolled his eyes. “Picture this, you getting up to grab a snack in the middle of the night, scared of turning on the light so you won’t loose any of the tired, you’re just trying to fix the hungry stomach growling. How do you /see/ the boxes and not run into them?” Alex took a breath to relax and shrugged his shoulders. “That’s what life is. You open up to people, you get hurt, you piece yourself back together with the help of your friends, you do it all over again. It’s all a fucking rollercoaster right, but you don’t need alcohol for that. And you should know I’m not Joe. I’m not walking out on you, no matter what you tell me. That’s what friends are for,” the man said, calmer now than he was before. “If there’s anything I learned from going through a break up, it’s that it’s simply wrong to be assuming this is all your fault. It’s not. If he walked out on you, that’s his fucking loss, Sophie. You can’t be entirely blamed for this.” When she came to sit beside him, Alex momentarily rested his head against hers and let out a small sigh. “You’re not weak or fragile because you’re asking for help. There’s so many people out there battling depression and anxiety, addiction or whatever. You think all of them are weak for what their heads do to them? Hell no. So don’t put yourself down like that.” Her comment about sending Rian caused him to chuckle lightly. “You’re probably right. I’ll use Rian as a human shield or something. I can pay him with a kiss to protect me,” he joked. Alex reached for the bottle of water in Sophie’s hand. “Look, this is sharing, and it’s not too bad, right?” He teased a llittle as he uncapped the bottle and took a sip.

“Because even in the dark you can kind of see where the boxes are and I mean you can still walk around it’s not so packed that you can’t move. You could always come back and help me unpack.” she countered to the man, “If it’s driving you that crazy.” she let out a soft sigh, “Can I say life sucks? I get it, I really don’t have it that bad, I mean I do a job that I love... like I have that but everything happening at once, it’s overwhelming. I’m supposed to be getting ready for my wedding next month, and I’m calling venues and everything canceling stuff, we always returned for table reads in July and this is the first year I’m not going back. Thrones is really over.” she swallowed, “I feel like the world has been ripped out from under me, you know? One second it was there and the next it’s not.” she murmured closing her eyes. “No I don’t think people struggling are weak but I can’t help but think that about me. I always said I wouldn’t be the girl sitting in the dark crying over an ex-lover but here I am. Plus people can be cruel when you’re hurting, and who’s to say all my friends are going to be like you... that they won’t see me as broken or whatever.” she sighed. “Well if you’re gonna kiss him at least let me watch.” Where had that come from? Okay so maybe she had some alcohol still in her system. “I’m okay sharing my water, it’s water. Food is different.” she said reaching for a burger. “I am starving.”

“You don’t have to get the place all fancy for me, hell no,” the man shook his head. “But I think you should.. unpack.” Alex looked around and grimaced a little. “Really. Unpack. I’m no one to judge, but really those boxes don’t do well as decor. And how the hell do you not constantly walk into them?” With an eyebrow quirked he looked at her, and a small groan left his lips as she tried to tell him how it was okay how much alcohol she’d been drinking most likely by herself. “I’m not trying to downplay how you’re feeling. I just told you, I’m not gonna give you that crap. But I fucking care about you. And I know you’re a whole lot stronger than you think you are. And if you need me to constantly tell you that it’s okay to fucking ask a friend for help, then I’ll do it. Until I don’t show up here unannounced anymore, but you actually give me a damn call and say ‘Come over, I’m not okay.” There was concern in his voice, and he looked at her sternly. “I don’t give a shit how much you think you can handle. But if you think I’m gonna sit at home and be like ‘yeah it’s cool, go ahead. Have a shot, or ten, that’s cool’ - that’s not happening. A lot of people have said they could handle their liquor but things are different when you’re in a bad place and by yourself. So don’t give me that.” He swallowed hard and then reached for another chicken nugget to eat. “And I could care less about collaborating with the asshole that broke your heart. I’d much rather kiss his ass. Actually, that could be fun… until he realized I’ve skipped the gym one too many times. That’s when I should probably run..”

“I’m going to, it’s a slow progress. Everything has to find the proper home.” Really, Sophie had abandoned it when the emotions of everything had hit her. She knew that coming to a new place to start over might make it a little harder, having to figure things out and it all hitting her at once. “Because I’m not blind.” she raised a brow, “I can see where the boxes are and not trip over them.” Really, she was pretty good at getting around her place at this point but he was right, she was there to stay, she may as well unpack. When he got a little heated her brow furrowed, “Hey.. I know you care. I’m not saying to not care about me I’m just trying to figure this all out..” her voice became thicker which meant the ever adorable British accent got thicker. “I opened up to Joe.. I told him I didn’t know how to handle so many things ending, and then him and I were over.” Her hands fidgeted together, “I was asking for help and he left.. so yeah I’m afraid to let anyone know how I’m doing. No one knows. Not Maisie, not mum and dad, not Richard, not Emilia, not Kit. None of them..” She knew how hard all the cast had taken the show ending but she had kept busy until she wasn’t. “If he loved me and left because I couldn’t handle it...” she shook her head as she uncapped the water taking a sip again. Moving over she sat back down next to Alex and laid her head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry...” she offered, “I don’t want people to see me as weak.. I don’t want to be that fragile girl that can’t handle anything or that all people see is broken.” Sophie swallowed, “Joe likes to go to the gym, you might wanna send Rian if you’re going to do that.”

He ate a few more fries as he listened to her and then shook his head. “See, that’s all no fun, but the crappiest thing I see here? You didn’t even call me to help you unpack those boxes,” Alex said, motioning around the room. “If you want them all for decor, at least put a tablecloth on them so they look… nicer,” he tried to joke, but then let out a quiet sigh. “Look, I’m not gonna give you that ‘you don’t have it that bad’ crap, because deep down, you know I’d be right and you’d hate for me to put that on you. Life’s crappy. Bad shitten happens. And it sucks that it’s all at the same time. Remind me to kick Joe’s ass by the way,” he said as he leaned forward to pick up one of the chicken nuggets. “Things won’t feel less empty if you try to fill that space with alcohol though.” Alex obviously got drunk more than he liked to admit. The amount of alcohol the boys and him drank while they were on tour, or just hanging out, was.. a lot. But he also knew his limits, and he rarely drank when he was by himself. And even if he did, it wasn’t more than a glass of wine to go with a nice meal. “If you wanna get black out drunk, please at least let me come join you.”

“You know it adds to the decor around here, it matches upstairs and everything.” she quipped as she took a few more fries and chewed, her house was a mess. The unpacking had only gotten her the absolute things she needed out of the boxes before being abandoned random places around her house. “Uh since when do I have to get my place all fancy for you? You’re not the queen.” she teased before leaning back on the couch. “You’re right, I don’t have it the worst in the world but it doesn’t mean that my pain isn’t valid. Just because someone next to you in a hospital is in a full body cast, doesn’t mean a broken arm doesn’t hurt. The last time I felt like this... I was in a really dark place and I don’t know how to handle it right now.. I’m doing my best, okay?” she sighed as she got up and walked over to a case of bottled water and grabbed one. “You don’t have to kick Joe’s ass, you may want to collab sometime or whatever musicians do.” she shrugged taking a sip of the liquid. “Come on, we’re Brits, we can handle our liquor.” It was true, all of her cast mates back in the day were notorious for getting plastered, to her it was just life. “I wasn’t getting black out drunk, I promise. I’m not drinking myself into a coma. That was all over the last few days, and I facetimed people while drinking so like.. wasn’t fully alone? I can handle my liquor it’s just been a little more recently then usual.”
