Every King in #Kemet or #AncientEgypt took on the name of #Heru, the falcon headed principle also known as #Horus. Upon learning the traits of the Peregrine Falcon, a native species along the #Nile, it's easy to understand why. The Peregrine's eye allows it to see prey from up to a mile away. It can fly extremely high at speeds surpassing 240mph and can change direction on a dime. Probably most notable is the fierce way they protect their nests. They even sacrifice their hunger for their chicks when necessary. It's no wonder this animal was so revered by the ancestors.
