The Opening and Ending Songs in Owari no Seraph are MikaYuu related
This is just a post where I try to find the meaning behind some lyrics of both of those songs. ^^~
Credit to rivaille-sensei for making me consider looking at the lyrics. Iām doing this cause it involves music, and music makes me feel better ouo
But did you know that FULL āX.U" and āScapegoatā songs are in Yuuās and Mikaās point of views? OMG O_O
Some of these lyrics also connects to this theoryĀ post I made.
Iām going to go deep into these lyrics, but Iām going to SKIP some of them cuz I canāt explain them. Btw I may be completely wrong. You can correct me but donāt be rude about it.
Itās like trying to analyze a poem so here goes!
(Iām looking at this lyrics as if itās in Mikaelaās and Yuuās point of view):
āIāll come and get you, Iām always ready to fightā
Mika wanted to come get Yuu and save him and he is ready to fight the humans to get Yuu back.
āSo donāt take all of the blame we were all swept awayā
Maybe Mika thinks that Yuu is blaming himself for running away and leaving his family behind. When āweā was mentioned itās probably referring to their Hyakuya family who were already slaughtered.
āDonāt take all of the weight you always doā
Mika, being close with Yuu, probably knows that Yuu is the type of person who will bear the burden of avenging the familyās death.
āThere will always be something you cannot controlā
This is probably referring to Yuuās inhuman side that he cannot control. It also refers to Mikaās uncontrollable thirst for human blood.
āWe will overcome. Your salvation has begunā
Mika wants him and Yuu to overcome these uncontrolable problems. The word āsalvationā is used in the Bible. When Mika mentions this, heās probably talking about saving Yuu.
āYou made me realize who I needā
Mika came to realize that Yuu is the only person whoās important to him in this ruined world. (MikaYuu moment here)
āIāll be there hold on! Theyāll change you somehow! So where are you now?ā
Mika is coming to save Yuu. When he meant change, he meant Ā that the humans are experimenting Yuu and changing him into something completely inhuman. He wants to locate and save Yuu immediately before that happens.
āIāll reach you by dawn, before you can be turnedā
Again, Mika is going to save Yuu before Yuu will completely turn inhuman.
āThe fallen angels you run with donāt know, It is our pain that makes us all human after allā
Mentioning that Yuu is running with the Imperial Demon Army (the fallen angels) and probably Mika believes that the army donāt know that emotional pain is what makes them human. Mika probably thinks that they are cold-hearted.
āAre they really deep inside your head? Do they control you like a little marionette?ā
Now Mika is asking Yuu if humans are being too friendly and close to Yuu when they are actually experimenting with him and are controlling him
āIāll cut the strings off you dead. Come with meā
I think this is where Mika wants Yuu to run away with him and abandon the army
āLet me free the wings of your soul. Can make it flyā
Obviously the wings are the angel wings. I think fallen angels can no longer fly. Yuu is a fallen angel as mentioned in my post. Mika try to save him by not making Yuu be a fallen angel anymore I guess.
āWeāve been waiting here just to make you whole againā
When Mika says āweā he probably meant his and Yuuās family that are now dead.
āNo more hating see I have always been your friend.ā
Mika donāt want Yuu to be filled with hatred, and heās also saying that heās always been Yuuās friend since Yuu joined the orphanage.
āIf you wanna fight with me! Then go ahead fight with me! Cos all I wanna do is help you man! You will be the death of me!ā
Now I think this third verse is Yuuās reponse to Mika. Cuz heās the type of person to shout back saying that if Mika is on his side, then Mika can go ahead and fight with him. Yuu actually wants to save Mika and he tries to find a way to turn Mika back into a human.
āYouāll be the death of meā? Yep this is the tragedy thing Iām talking about where Yuu is gonna get killed by Mika cuz Mika is the death of him.
SO THE TRAGEDY IS ACTUALLY GOING TO HAPPEN?! QAQ

āThe power of our army had been cut with a scytheā
I think Mika responded back saying that the vampire army heās in, have weakened probably because many of the vampires are slaughtered. Scythe? Shinoa has a cursed scythe that kills vampires. Is Mika saying that Shinoa somehow caused the vampire army to weaken? Iām predicting the future events here.
āAnd if we lose you to them we may never surviveā
The āweā is again probably referring to the dead Hyakuya family. Mika is afraid of losing Yuu because if Yuu becomes completely inhuman by the Imperial Demon Army, then heāll not be the Yuu Mika knows anymoreā¦ wait a minuteā¦ Ā is that why Mika slays Yuu cuz Yuu is not Yuu anymore?
āYou can leave but you must first believe, Just one step at a time and keep your head up boy and Youāll be free.ā
This probably describes tha passing of Yuu. Yuu leaving the ruined world and finally being free and Mika giving him a word of advice. THIS IS SO SAD! CRIES

Honestly unlike āX.Uā I canāt really explain most of the lyrics in this one. If you wanna help me on that, you can.

This is probably hinting that Yuu is going to die. I think heās already inhuman in this one and he probably wanted to be sacrificed to prevent his friends from getting killed. Like he almost killed Shinoa once when he was out of control. idk
āThe fallen angels I run with all know, Itās our fear that make us human after allā
What the? THATāS VERY SIMILAR TO THE X.U SONG LYRICS WHEN THE X.U SONG SAYS āThe fallen angels you run with donāt know, It is out pain that makes us all human after allā
I think this is like in Yuuās point of view in response to Mika by saying that the Imperial Demon Army he runs with DOES KNOW that FEAR is what makes them human instead of PAIN. Like the fear of being killed by vampires when going on a mission and the fear that humanity will completely fall.
āAre you still my family?ā
Idk but I think itās explaining the scene where Mika faces Yuu who is now completely out of control. Yuu will not be like the Yuu Mika once knew when that happens which is why Mika asks softly this before stopping Yuu.
āYou are not my enemy, Iāll let you prove me wrong,ā
Obviously of course Yuu and Mika arenāt enemies. They family. TheĀ āIāll let you prove me wrong partā probably explains how Mika have to to stop saving but slay Yuu cause Yuu is not Yuu anymore.

And just to make sure, I got the idea to make this post fromĀ rivaille-sensei. I DIDNāT STEAL the lyric thoughts from anyone else. These are my own thoughts based off of my recent theory and I try to put my thoughts together since yesterday. Tho it was difficult to make good explanations ^^;
