A billiard I recently finished. Made from very old, Greek briar. Even though this is a pretty average, group 5 sized pipe—about 5.5” long by 1-7/8” high, it only weighs in at 1.3 oz. (37 g). This drilled like a dream and the shavings were almost dust like. Old Friends: 10 year old Balkan Sasieni in a Jean Lacroix carved, Pierre Cardin branded pipe. The Latakia in this is smooth as cream and this was one of the first estate pipes I bought. Probably carved in the late ‘70’s or early ‘80’s, there’s something really nice about old, French pipes. They smoke beautifully and the briar is always interesting, like on this modern looking, paneled billiard. Finally was able to carve out a billiard recently, after about 3 failed attempts. This one is modeled after a Dunhill LB, one of my favorite billiard shapes but with a little bit of a modern touch. Has a paneled shank, lucite stem and an oil and wax finish.
