Tattoo done by Miryam Lumpini.
This is the first time I’ve seen color tattoos on dark skin that actually look vibrant and pigmented!!!!!
Once I was talking to a dark skinned lady who told me that she was jealous of my pasty skin because she wants color tattoos, which her artist said wasn’t possible with her skin tone. I sent her to mine, and he proceeded to go off about how dark skin accepts greens, yellows, and white beautifully, and that her previous artist just lacked the skills to use those 3 colors as highlights to make other colors pop more. If you are dark skinned and your tattoo artist says you can’t have bright colors, find a new one.
Re-blogged again for that added text!!!
Adding one of my fave tats here (by @sosdoestats on ig)! The left is fresh and the right is after like 2-3 years. Naturally it’s not as vibrant once it’s healed (and my lighting is shit sry) but that’s true for tats on any skin color. I was so nervous to get this bc we don’t see many pics of colorful tattoos on brown skin but I love love love her!!!
And to echo what they said above, highly recommend checking your artist’s instagram/website/etc to see if they post pictures of any brown-skinned clients. Sadly it’s super common to see dozens of posts of white clients and not a single one of us, but at least you’ll know in advance that you probably shouldn’t trust this person to permanently alter your skin.
OMG IM SO HAPPY I GOT TO SEE THIS HEALED!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!
