If my count is correct, I hit my 28th listen to Dig yesterday on my way out to visit the luthier in LaSalle County, Illinois. It was a 3-hour drive from Chicago so I had plenty of time to sit back, enjoy the scenery and find a good musical groove.

I realized I'd hit a limit of sorts, that the puff pastry of my brain had fully delaminated in the oven of the Dig album and it was time to take that cookie sheet out and let it cool for a while before consuming any more.

So I spent the majority of that 3-hour drive listening to George Clinton and The Andrews Sisters. In case anybody else is in the same boat I was in yesterday, I'm going to share a little Andrews Sisters piece that I bet the guys heard a number of times as kids, the harmonies really remind me of the vocal harmonies on Giants albums. And the horns are fabulous. Enjoy.

P.S. it's possible the John's haven't listened to The Andrews Sisters although I doubt it. They definitely influence Beatles harmonies though so worth it even from that perspective. Pretty great.

Join Me in Liking Fun......I think it would be cooll if everybody drew where their dot on this Venn diagram was to show where they fall..... As for me, I'm about a third of the way straight down into Cowtown and about 2/3 of the way to the left on the Purple Toupee side..... I'm going to mark this up and I'll post my own separately I invite you all to do so as well. Pretty easy to do with a quick phone photo edit.....
