He gives the other a look before nodding and sighing. His neck a bit stiff and his bones a bit cold from being in the cold water. His body has a higher body temperature then a normal human so he can enjoy not getting sick. but at this age….at his age, he better set up the heater at home. 

 “There is. but be a little bit dryer before we get there.” 

He moves to stand, putting back his discarded clothing. 

 “I can only afford the cheap drinks right now, so I hope you didn’t lose your phone. Its the only way to buy things here.”

oh, right. he’ll drench the entire bar should he kept his outfits, but to change everything now and then? especially the insecurity without his bandages latched on? no, hell no. dazai decided to peel his trenchcoat off and replaced it with the given one, perhaps he could gain one or two information just by a small gesture. a note to be kept.

“a sake will do just fine. if you know what that is? or whiskey.” he’d like to request for a wine for a reminder of someone, but no. that time is not now.

“neither do i.” a phone, a room, a limited ability duration. that was all and nothing more, not even the people he encountered could elicit nor trigger a decent information as of how to escape from this prison. 

“have you think of an alternate plans?” unusual for him to ask for another’s opinion, but it wouldn’t hurt. not when there was no one he could trust and depends on. though the latter would prove to be nigh impossible.

 “Severin, Severin Hawrhorn. I’m a police officer.” And perhaps, relatively high ranked at that though he doesn’t show it with how old he is, and how out of date his language seems to be. He’s rather gruff and smells too much like cigarettes. the smell slightly softer due to the sheer amount of water in his clothes. 

He hands a towel and then, remembering something… 

 “How about a drink to get you warm up. Theres a motel nearby that I know that has dry towels. I can leave you there to get warm.”

“that’s nice because I’m a detective myself!” albeit looking not so convincing in the eye of public, he is still one. perhaps, they can get along well and he is looking forward to it more than anything! it is not companionship the man is looking for, but at the very least someone who can cooperate and useful enough to dig for some informations here and there.

“is there any bar nearby, we can start to bond there. don’t worry about the rest, i can deal with it just fine!” he was provided a place to stay, at the very least when he dipped himself into this mess.

ϟ you’re going to get cold! it’ll make you sick! you’ll get all sniffly and won’t be able to stop sneezing! heeeyyy! are you listening to me?! ϟ the man was a strange one. they had been talking near the sand, and he had decided to get up from the concrete, saying that he was going to go into the water. but Pikachu had tried that before when it wasn’t summer anymore, and it took a lot of snuggling up to soft things to warm up. but the human kept walking, he didn’t even look back. it was like the idea didn’t bother him.

but it was going to be harder to find a lot of hot and soft things to make him warm again when he came out. assuming he had meant to walk back. the creature’s cheeks puffed up, angry with being shrugged of, and chased after the man. no matter how much he yelled, it didn’t make a difference. so there was one thing that he knew would make him listen.

if there was abything he had been trying was discovering as of how to get out from this place and return to his initial homeland. all came in fruitless effort and more waste of everything ( not only bandages ). his cash barely prevailing with the absence of his current partner and it drove him to terrible life decisions one after another, as if he never had practiced such a thing previously.

water dripping from the trench coat as he dragged himself out of the river, and a jolt came thereafter. the detective thought nothing could harm him when it comes to supernatural abilities, therefore this one is pretty much real. his skin sting, and everything was numb and prompted him to collapsed straight to the pile of snow. was it a flickering amusement creeping within or was it curiosity as of how this could affect him?

his head rolled to the side and spotted a fluff of yellow that seemed to... have been tailing him all of this time? human is a thing, but creature that is not within his knowledge is another! how amusing!

He hesitates for a moment before shaking his head. He knows, that sometimes speeches don’t do a damm thing. its action that takes the most part, to change a person. but joking about such a thing? he …never mind. If the man wanted to know what happens after taking actions like that, then thats fine. He’ll figure it out. 

 “Lets get you someplace dry first. Or you will really die in this cold.”

in one of the book he read long ago, it was mentioned as of how human will perish under the might of winter. veins frozen with hail, and avalanche halting the beating of heart, everything becomes suffocating and eventually a life will slip away. it certainly will feel hurt, nevertheless.

and for someone who owns a motto of : let’s have a pure, cheerful and energetic-- okay, he really should stop there. not like anyone would buy him seriously whether he was joking or being serious.

does not mean he will refuse a company for now. whoever will do, commoners, or if he’s lucky, he might find someone who’s tied behind this city’s construct. there are people who live longer here than he does, therefore they might have known better. and that will eventually be suffice to make a solid plan as of how getting out from this place and return to where he belongs.

The male was finding the amount of eclipses this place had kinda concerning. Seeing as currently there’s been no harm in it and it seems everytime there’s a eclipse,new people are seen on the island so knowing that his anxiety was put at ease slightly.

Tho he does fear the day he’ll look up and see the moon turn red….

He was too distracted at looking up at the sky that he almost missed a bit of movement in the corner of his eyes,tilting his head back down to look over,noticing they seemed to be looking around the place. Ah,they must be new seeing as he did the exact same thing a moon ago.

  “ Ah are you okay? Do you require help? “

a few days had passed and there was no valuable information to extract from his surrounding, there was no exact clue as of how to get out from this city and what kind of antiques spreading to and fro from unknown time. dazai is lucky to have his ability intact albeit nerfed to a great deal of duration, yet it mattered not. he is used to deal with things without the need to abusing them like how offensive ability users would. there is no havoc so far, and so long nothing befall to him ( he wouldn’t mind getting caught in a mess, that is what he is made for, after all. )

“oh, don’t worry. there’s no problem here. the moon is beautiful tonight, don’t you think?”

riddles was his forte, and gauging anything from anyone based on their reaction had always been his forte. why not attempting to do so, now?

There is the tap tap of leather shoes hitting pavement. And now grass, and now everything else. Flop goes the shoes, and then the sound of a body hitting water. 

 “Are you alright, answer me if you’re still alive and what injuries you have.” 

He made sure to use his body to stop the movement of the other, from further progression into the river murkier depths. 

 “Do you need assistance?”

his legs twitched, one, twice, thrice, before he plops down and stands up as swift as he could. how dare!? people kept on coming to disrupt his attempt of finding an eternal peace!? not like he wanted to die now, but it is something he finds amusing.

“you just disturbed my suicide attempt!” 

it was not the nicest response, no matter how comically collected he announced said fact. dazai dusted the water and mud away from his coat, and tucked his bandaged arms into his pocket.

“first thing first! can we get something to eat? it’s cold here and i believe my peny won’t do anything much here!”

he doesn’t know since when he fell into this rabbit hole. there was no sign, nothing, and the first thing he knew when his consciousnes returned to him was him drifting in a river. did he try to commit another suicide attempt? it was not the case, he was on his way back from a small discussion back then, but where is this place now?

 the skyscrapers are far from what his memories could serve, there’s only one conclusion. this is not japan. he was thrown somewhere else while he was unconscious. his body ached, but he made no movement to swim to the shore, like a drifting cloud he lets himself get brought to whatever ends will serve him.
