She tilts her head. Looker really never seemed interested in the League before, but she remembered him so distraught when Croagunk died in the line of work, it was an effort on her father to ease him back into accepting another from him.

He did well with normal types and dog-like pokemon, but Croagunk in particular was special.

"You sure you want to enroll? I can get you signed up when the Festival is over."

The Archery Gallery is set up with Drifloon lanterns hanging on string, and ring targets spread out on a canvas depicting a dark forest. You're handed five little 'arrows' each with a suction cup on the end. You level your bow and pull back!

Your prize is an action figure depicting one of the robot pokemon from the beloved series Proteam Omega. You have a choice of the Biplane Pikachu, Poliwrath Train, Gyarados Boat, Aerodactyl Dirigible, the Snorlax Rescue Truck, or Captain Venusaur.

🏹 🥠 A young dark-skinned Asian woman steps up to the fair booth to try out archery and receive a fortune cookie. She's a Draconid. She's born to shoot bows. And as for the fortune cookies, she knows they're mostly for fun, but hey, she's seen a few of them come true…(Feiyun)

Entering into the fair grounds, you're greeted by a young woman with purple hair, wearing a band with a witch hat and bat wings. She hands you out a cookie that seems to suit you- a crisp cookie with saffron colored dough, smelling vaguely of spices and something fruity, icing pale with star-shaped sprinkles.

"There is nothing of value behind you."

One target falls, easily. Then another, and another- but the last two miss.

"Three targets- a pretty solid track."

💪 "I've got supernatural strength? Hello? This was made for me," Tobias says, walking up to the Machamp Bellringer with a confident swagger.

"Testing your strength are we?"

The man running the booth has his Machamp hand you a hammer.

"Hit that lever at your feet, see if you can ring the bell!"

You lift the hammer overhead and bring it down with all your might!

The weighted pinnacle zooms past the sixth marker with ease, then the seventh and eighth... but doesn't make it past nine. 'Exceptionally strong.'

Machamp claps his hands- all four of them- as the attendant uses a hook to lift your prize to you.

Your prize is a LARGE Arbok plushie! It can wrap around your shoulders easily, but it's still a little long.

"How would Janine react if she saw a Pokemon trainer playing video games with her Pokémon in-between training their Pokemon?"

"Not too pressed, I guess just curious what games they're playing. Some games are good for learning time management, others are good for limb-to-eye coordination... and there's nothing wrong with playing games for fun."

She's not strict in the way people seemed to associate with their family. And she has enough trust in her team to have good judgement.

Costume Contest Submission: Valerie! (@mirroredranger)

Valerie's scar on her chest and arm are highlighted with blue and white makeup. Valerie herself is wearing a pale foundation and magenta lipstick. Her hair is down, loose, so it is curling down her back. On her torso, Valerie is wearing a vest that is kept shut with three white, fang shaped toggles. On her right shoulder are two long, black iridescent honchkrow feathers. Coming from the bottom of the vest are rows of iridescent murkrow feathers. In addition, Valerie is also wearing blue suitpants with magenta pinstripes. Her black dress shoes are adorned with a blue gem with a triangular magenta crest. On her hands, Valerie is wearing blue fingerless gloves with a jagged magenta fringe on the wrists. Topping each finger is a stiletto acrylic nail. The pinky and index nails are magenta, while the rest are white. Completing Valerie's vampiric look are a set of fangs and a long, tattered cape that is black on the outside, but blue inside.

Showing off scars and wearing fun, bright colors, Janine is in love with Valerie's smart use of accessories to give a fun twist on a spooky archetype! It's so cute, and she means it as the highest praise!

Costume Contest Submission: Kotone! (@startgamc)

Kotone is wearing a mid-length sleeveless dress in the striped pattern of Giratina's signature tan and red colors. On her hands she's wearing elbow length black gloves with gold armlets that don't fully connect. Her pants, following the pattern of Giratina's legs tucks into knee high boots with gold accents. Over her base outfit is a cape with rounded gold accessories to replicate the gold spikes that protrude from Giratina's sides. The cape is clasped together with a red gem. When she pulls back her arms to reveal the inside of the cape, it has a galaxy-like pattern studded with shimmering beads to mimic the distortion world. On her back is a set of Giratina's black wings and she's wearing a thin, pink headband to give her the illusion of horns/spikes coming out of her head.

Oh that headband and wing underside texture are to die for- and Kotone wears it well! That smile and confidence... No mistaking it. That's cute.

May looks like knight who has stepped off from the pages of a storybook into reality in her light leather armor. The wreath of yellow sea hibiscus around her head and a sabre around waist help complete the aura of someone born in a different era. The chestpiece, arms and legs are dyed purple with the edges lined a deeper shade. Her boots and gloves are a deep black lined in gold. Strips of red hang from her shoulders in a manner reminiscent of Dustox legs while the purple petals around her waist bear a resemblance to the moth's fringes. Below the petals is a pale green skirt made of numerous strips of leather sewn together. Her green cape swishes around her legs, fastened around her neck with a golden brooch holding her keystone. ( Those familiar with the worship of Rayquaza might recognize the bident design as a symbol of the dragon's wisdom. ) The cape itself is a light green with a tattered edge and when she turns her back grips the sides and holds her arms to the side, look almost identical to her own Dustox's wings. The red false eyes are a perfect replica as is the fringe of forest green.

Janine is in awe of the way the capelet falls across the shoulders, the clear inspiration from Dustox- she's always found the weirdest things to be cute, and perhaps the storybook feel of it pushes her personal bias further, because in her eyes, May is so cute in that outfit.

Costume Contest Submission: Lillie! (@cosmoscourge)

Lillie Lillie is dressed in a dark purple-blue skintight dress with a ribbon of pink-and-purple flowers that is positioned similar to a Miss Universe ribbon slung around one shoulder and draped over one of her hips. At the bottom of the skirt, the dark fabric fades out to a clear weblike structure around her high-heeled shoes that looks simultaneously like a spider web and like an Ultra Wormhole. Her face and arms are painted white, with purple markings making a skeleton face and outlining arm and hand bones that match the color of her dress. The top of her dress has mysterious bright blue and yellow tendrils going down from it. Finally, she wears a pink circlet of beads on her head. Lunala Lunala’s wings are painted painstakingly with cobweb patterns that match the white patterns already on her wings. The cobwebs are strung between the large spikes that appear on her wings, and then there are two big cobwebs immediately adjacent to and extending below her shoulders. Each of Lunala’s wing edges is covered with neatly arranged orchids and four-petaled flowers which have been painted over to be in a gradient of pink, red and purple. Her tail has one of these such orchids in its center, surrounded by white four-petaled flowers. Finally, her tail also has a dark purple lamp attached to it with a white skull on it.

Oh wow, she'd not seen that pokemon before- but it WAS a pokemon. No hesitation, the way they were in sync and had their outfits compliment each other-

Costume Contest Submission: Riley! (@auraguardians)

Riley's costume is similar, but not identical, to the sort of clothing Sir Aaron used to wear: a high-necked light blue tunic with golden accents layered over a padded white gambeson, an ash-grey cape pinned with golden clasps, dark leggings, and matching black leather boots and gloves. His other accessories include a dark cloth mask, a prop sword with a sapphire-blue gem in it's pommel, as well as his favorite hat and necklace. He wears it with a sort of casual, comfortable pride that shows in the fluidity of his movements.

His poise and certainty, the way he knows how to use accessories, the at ease charisma- Janine has a hard time deciding what he should be. But ultimately-
