"i don't like winter. it's cold and it's dark and i certainly can't see any advantage of it." which is why she usually prefers to live in warmer regions. not that she has much of a choice anymore now. another downside of autumn and winter is that people tend to get sick. diseases, flu, and colds were dangerous. she has next to no immune system.

"and you can judge why? when was the last time you have actually visited a public restroom?" because katherine was convinced @soulessavicr just made someone up. smaller stations might be less frequented but that still doesn't have to mean that someone regularly cleans them.

"fact is that there is no positive thing about being human. it sucks." the only good thing that being human has given her is quality time with stefan.

"at least we can agree on the warmer seasons, then. but i do like the snow and getting to be stuck inside part." he chuckles, he enjoys the change up of summertime into colder months where he can enjoy making fires and sitting by one in winter months with hot chocolate. the world seems quieter and it's fun to just enjoy the silence of it reading or either writing something in his journal, gives him plenty of opportunity to brood and be closed off from the world. "i don't know. few months?" shoulders lift then fall in a shrug, still amused by her whole anti bathroom thing. "uhh," contemplating it for a second, staring off in thought as he sits on the foot of his bed. he still can't agree that it sucks. he thinks it's just a katherine opinion on it sucking, "it's all according to the person, i think. since i'd rather be a human again and find being a vampire way worse." @survivingpierce

AHHH you guys make me want to see a stefan/elena child oc or a stefan/katherine child oc SO BADDD. pls bring either one, it would be so cute and i'd cry in family feels bc i hc stefan always wanting a child (but due to vampire stuff ofc hes never had that dream to come true) and yeah i'd melt !!

it could be so easy. sometimes it's strange how easy things can be that always seemed to be too hard. making one too vulnerable. sometimes it's surprising how little some people need to build some kind of connection. why hadn't she noticed that sooner? "really? i always thought you're more the autumn-type of person." @soulessavicr tended to be broody which goes well with falling leaves and golden sunsets.

for a moment, katherine did wonder if he despised her for taking that chance from him. marriage, a family. he never stated that he wanted those things when they were together in 1864. he always talked about them, just the two of them. there was never a mention of marriage or children. on the other hand, however, stefan was quite young back then and while he hasn't physically age since then, the mind does some aging. it comes with experience. views can change.

"perhaps. perhaps not. in any case, you would have to limit your alcohol consumption because it damages the liver and that's something that's not recommended." fortunately, she almost can't drink anything because she gets tipsy after one drink.

the disgust on her features is very obvious. "have you ever seen a restroom located at a gas station?" obviously not, why would he check those places out? "sometimes they even ask for money to use them and then you get … that dirthole."

"both. i love a little of each season. i enjoy autumn and spring for the same reasons, the change in the leaves. the warm nights in the summer and then the snow in the winter." there's something to like about each one to him but especially spring time and autumn. he can get lost in how mesmerizing the orange, red and yellow colors falling off the trees are and then just as much when earth turns back to vibrant green. and how the birds chirp, like she said.

"i could leave the alcohol behind, that wouldn't bother me." he chuckles, finding her reasonings amusing. "well, that's because you're choosing the wrong ones. you don't stop at those tiny stations, you always go for the extravagant truck stops. their bathrooms always have pizazz." saying playfully, amusement filling his voice as their conversation becomes about bathrooms of all things. @survivingpierce

stefan did not have to think long about which examples he had to give for questions he wanted to have answered. it made her wonder how long he wanted to know these things. "i don't really have a favorite color. i like jewel-toned colors and colors that have a certain depth. i like purple and blue and green and red. not a fan of yellow when it comes to clothing and pastels are only beautiful in the sky." she wore pastels in 1864 because they were trend chic but it's not really her vibe. "i like palačinka which are similar to pancakes but i also have a liking for sweet cherries and strawberries. in general i have to admit that i like sweet things. my favorite season is probably the transition between spring and summer. it's already warm outside but nature is still so fresh and luscious. it's also when the birds sing the loudest."

katherine never did hesitate to answer his questions even though she wasn't sure if those were the things stefan really wanted to know. the expression on her features turned soft after @soulessavicr told her that he once thought that he had a chance at marrying her. he often talked about wanting to be with her forever but she never considered that he also wished to officially marry her. that is something new, an insight into his thoughts. "when i was human, a long time ago, i wanted to marry, yes. i even wanted a handful of children." her head tilted slightly, a slight frown on her features as she recalled her naive, foolish dreams. "but i fear i'm not that woman anymore. marriage … seems like getting shackles. i don't know if it's really a concept for a vampire."

she noticed his reaction regarding her nod to their activity last night and it's interesting. for many reasons. her gaze follows his hand that left her wrist and found a way to her chest. "i'm certain that's a view not many men share." most would prefer sexuality over actually getting to know the other person.

katherine bit down on her bottom lips after stefan stated that he thought about turning her. contrary to him, she already knows the truth. "it won't work, stefan. vampire blood doesn't even manage to heal me. i throw it up after seconds..." she can't keep it down long enough which was awful. a fragile human being with no way of getting healed if something bad happens. which, if she's honest, is incredibly probable. "i don't think you want to switch places. i need to pee. do you know how bothersome long drives are if one needs to pee? but you also have to stay hydrated because otherwise, you'll get wrinkles. and don't even start with all the sicknesses one can get. it's awful." katherine wrinkled her nose to underline her words. if she could become a vampire again, she would choose that without wasting a second.

standing quiet. listening intently to every word, it easily becomes very interesting to him to know these handful of katherine's preferences and favorite things. weird to him how he didn't find any of it out until now. at some point, he involuntarily catches himself gently smiling at the way she describes everything. the part about the birds especially, that really allows a detailed smile to linger across visage. "i love that part during the year too." he can agree, didn't realize they could find so many things in common. along with almost every other thing she stated, somewhere in her statement is a favorite of his. @survivingpierce

"sucks to be them." those men. since, sex definitely isn't everything. it's the part of sharing love for that person that's extremely the mindboggling part, too bad they're missing out and probably mistreating someone in the process when they're only thinking about their body. "so did i." putting it simply, all because it hurts too much to elaborate on something he could never have and will never know what it's like... but makes him softly smile they could've agreed on that if that had met in different lives. "yes, i definitely would." at trading her places, stefan means. "never know, katherine. maybe it wouldn't affect me as terribly... i have been a vampire a lot less longer than you." he teases her with that, smile turning back playful. "well that's what gas station stops are for. i think it makes the trip fun." gently shrugging, smiling like he doesn't know what she's talking about but genuinely being optimistic.

emeralds playfully roll, then amusement curls his lips upwards in a smile. "i disagree, i don't think you can comfortably rest on top of me. i toss and turn a lot, you'd just get elbowed constantly." his way of stalling. he pulls down a blanket off of the chair next to the couch, letting it unfold itself by coming undone and then throws it over katherine. leaning back down, tucking her in like she's five.

"you didn't?", her words came out with a surprise because she did open up when she was with stefan, no matter if it had been in 1864 or now. it could be possible, however, that @soulessavicr just didn't recognize it. maybe he thought some things were empty words, some revelations were lies. maybe some (partly tragic) truths were simply too cleverly packaged.

"oh, i'm sure you did learn a few things about me last night", she grinned and winked. sometimes you are most open when you spend a passionate night with someone. jokes aside, it's really rare for her to actually spend the night with someone and stay. it rarely happens that she wants to sleep next to someone. paranoia. it doesn't make her feel safe. but with him, it's different. "but…" her expression grew more serious, "if there's anything you want to know, ask." if he wanted to get to know her, if he felt like she was still a mystery, he has to ask.

there was a slight frown on her features when she noticed the slight change in his expression when she approached which didn't stop her. his touch on her wrist did, however, make her heart skip a beat. they were having a moment, here and now. and at this moment, she wanted to believe that he could actually indeed help her. that there was a solution to her problem.

"it would be ironic if this time, it would be you who turns me." the corners of her lips twitched upwards for a second before her gaze settled on the ground, her hand withdrawing from his cheek. "but i think it will be a waste of time…"

"no. nothing like what your... favorite color is, or your favorite food, your favorite season. i don't know any of that kind of stuff about you. or even if you.... wanted to get married. because see... at the time, i would've thought i had a chance at marrying you. but now from the little i do know about you, i would assume you're not the marrying type. or are you? am i wrong or am i right. which is what i'm saying... i don't know you well enough to know the answer already." he chuckles, making a lighthearted joke out of it as emeralds perk up with a little happiness at the amusement of the way he lightly teases her. "yeah," another chuckle, this time a sheepish one. dare he say a shy one. "yeah i do." he agrees, smittenly. "but.." fingers uncurl from around her wrist, lifting his hand to tap her heart, "here is where is most important to me." meaning, sexual arousal isn't what comes to mind about knowing about her first.

"okay, i will." there's so many things he wants to ask, but a lot of those things... now that he has permission... make him halt on blurting anything out. things he wants to ask are things he'd have to ease into in fear of upsetting her. "i did almost think about that, but i immediately thought of what could go wrong because it seems too easy." definitely feels like something would go wrong and he's scared of that risk. "if i could take your place, i would. or just join you." something tells him he'd enjoy it a lot more, though. and it's not something he elaborates on... but he knows he certainly would love to be human again. @survivingpierce

“Watch the hair,” his sister chuckled. “You’re not the only one of us two that has perfect hair.” The ravenette rolled her eyes at what he said next. “You’re telling me the great Stefan Salvatore is scared of mice?” She nudged him playfully while still teasing him on the subject. She knew he was just giving some ideas that were not actually what he was truly scared of. To be fair though she was not the kind of person to open about that sort of thing either. Sometimes, not saying anything at all was best. “I’m just kidding. I know they don’t bother you any.” A shrug followed then but she softened ever so slightly at what was the final thing he said. His twin pulled him into a quick hug then, “I love you too Stef. I’m here though always I promise. You can’t get rid of me too easily.”

"who says?" he teases, but beaming when he gets told he has perfect hair. "that is what i'm saying." chuckling, it's not even really a joke. he could find himself jolting if he stumbled upon one of those weird little critters. arm wrapping around his sibling once he's pulled into a quick hug, he leans into it and then pats her back. "i love you too, sam." he was never against saying it, they might have the promise of surviving most things normal humans couldn't and technically the promise of living eternally.. but nothing was impossible. anything could happen and he still doesn't take anything or anyone for granted. "same to you, sis."

"taunting you? come on elena, don't be so dramatic." he purposely annoyingly jabs her in her left side he's approaching next to, repeatedly. "what? you don't want me to tag along with you? ––when did you get so rude."

katherine only raised an eyebrow in question at his statement because while she would like to believe that @soulessavicr wouldn't do such a thing out of pity, she was also aware that sex is a wonderful distraction from all the pain this world can bring. at his next words, however, katherine inhaled while she considered telling him what she felt. not because she doesn't know but because it would make her vulnerable. "if there's one thing i can assure you of, it's the fact that you make my life better." words that weren't easily admitted but were the truth.

"i'm aware that you looked differently at me last night," she retorted because that had been the look in his eyes she was longing for. but the days before? today? does he regret their night? does he regret having given in to her?

his declaration was surprising and her eyes widened a bit at his confession. she kept quiet while he spoke although the hint of a smile began to show on her lips. he loved her. he always had. and it has nothing – at least not exclusively – to do with her being human. and although it's beyond stupid, those words made her heart flutter – in a good way!

"in my current, shitty situation you are the only good thing, stefan. i hope you know that." her tone was soft and quiet as she strolled closer and raised a hand to let it rest on his cheek. "and i don't regret our night. it'll be a memory i'll remember fondly."

listening to katherine state he makes her life better, it comes with the additional realization how cold hearted and wrong he has been himself towards her for so long. he can't act like he's a good person if he doesn't learn to forgive and apologize himself, that's came as a learning process but he's glad for it finally happening and broken out of his resentment. it heals that hurt and anger he's held inside of his chest for so long towards katherine and he's happier not having to live with that any longer. he's learned he can't act like he's somehow superior if he doesn't learn to forgive.

and there's the things he's been observing ever since getting closer to katherine, he had this assumption she was heartless and knows how wrong he's been. and now has this undying curiosity to learn more about @survivingpierce he's been blinded by for so long. "if you think about it, katherine. i never really got to learn anything about you." he thinks out loud, thinking that they never got to spend together long enough for him to really get to know her. "it's took one hundred years, but i'm glad to finally learn a few things than i did before." he chuckles in disbelief, at how insane that sounds despite it being the truth.

"good." a small word of declaration the moment he hears katherine agreeing that's how he looked at her because it was, along with that smile that lifts and reaches his emerald eyes that her doe ones capture.

that one word is his declaration that what he looked at her with last night was genuine and he's pleased to see her recognize it. watching her come closer, he has to learn to allow someones touch again without wanting to succumb to it now that it's slow and not heated. it almost breaks him inside when her hand gently touches his face as some of that emotion even wavers in the hue of his eyes as stefan stares down at her. then slowly, he lifts his hand to gently wrap his fingers around her wrist. "i don't know how, but i'll help fix what's happening."
