Paul & Jeremy; Back & Forth
Come check out this interview between Paul Granese and Jeremy Richie..
The interview touches on subjects from Breaking Bad to collaborations. If you're asking who Paul Granese and Jeremy Richie are, your answers lay ahead..
Paul Granese is an American artist that I've followed for a few years now, his distinctive art & design has always captured my attention. I'm proud to say he was apart of Soul Feeders initial launch, being the artist behind the Fallen Mind design.
Jeremy Richie is an all round creative fella who use to run a very neat clothing company called Tribe. I loved his complete approach, look, and presence for Tribe. Along side that, he is also a talented graphic designer!

Selling live at Malak
After just returning from a long multi-state holiday, I'm getting right back into the swing of things. First on the list is selling Soul Feeders at the upcoming gig on Saturday at Malak Theater, in Darwin.
The gig is being run by my mates in I, The Burden. There is a list of great local bands also featured on the line up.
Here is the poster that I've designed for the event.
Be sure to head down if you're in Darwin!
Like a fist to the face, Fist2Face is closing..
Depressing news has surfaced that popular record / merch store Fist2Face, located in Melbourne, is closing their doors after 10 years.
Fist2Face say it best themselves.. They are a real record store, run by passionate and music obsessive staff, who only stock authorised music & merchandise. Oh, they also happen to be Australia's longest running and most trusted independent, online music merch store.
Unfortunately over the years there have been a number of set backs for the store and its dedicated owner Gerard Pidoto. Such factors as the stock rooms flooding numerous times, staff thieving from the store, and windows getting smashed.
Through it all, it seems Gerard has not let any of it get him down. He had given up his own personal wage from the store, started taking on extra jobs to recover the stores debt, all while couchsurfing to just keep the store alive. I personally think that is some exceptionally inspiring dedication!
Fist2Face has always made an exceedingly positive impression on me. My first experience with the store was a number of years ago when I had my first attempt of running a clothing brand. F2F was one of the first and most friendly / helpful stores that I had ever spoke to. I was inspired to one day have the chance to share a mutual appreciation with the store.
Another experience of my own, that stands out most, is the Music2Face CD sampler they had created. Music2Face was a free seasonal music sampler given out for free to the large following the store had. Giving a number of Australia bands (including my own), a huge opportunity to be heard. This still is an insanely awesome idea for a record store to actually do, Id love to do it with SF orders one day!
I'm extremely sad to hear the closing of the store and the fact I will never get the chance to work with Gerard, I'm happy to know he will have the chance to truly relax now though. Great work everyone, I hope to visit the store before the doors close and spend some money there, like you should!

DOOOM has a new home
No, not doom in the sense of your plane, that's full of angry snakes, crashing down into a goddamn volcano, where you can only be described as being doomed. Nor is it the adventure of some ass kicking that takes part on the moons of Mars.
This is Dooom, a man who is interested in tea and drawing lines! Hailing from the UK, Dooom is a freelance illustrator that you should be taking notice of. If you're a fan of Soul Feeders, then you've surely seen his work. He was the artist that created the back design for the 'Sightseer' shirt.
His new home? A brand new website, that is simple to use and easy on the eye. It showcases a number of his strongest pieces that range from work for Soul Feeders to Fall Out Boy.
If you need any more convincing to go ahead and check it out, here a couple of pieces of his that I personally enjoy.
Christmas Party Launch Review
Last night I officially launched Soul Feeders at a gig in my hometown of Darwin, here is a little re-cap on how the night went..
This was the first time I was physically able stand behind my product and hear everyone's thoughts. I ended up being ecstatic over the fact that people I hadn't even known personally were interested in supporting the brand and liked the products.
I was also able to hear some feedback first hand, that I will act on asap (larger shirt sizes being one of those things). But the positivity of everyone's comments on the Soul Feeders first drop was great.
Below is a little review of the bands that played, with one band that had to unfortunately drop out. While being a very optimistic person and always wanting to hype up my towns local scene, I really hope my words don't come off as being biased. I'm really glad that I got to be apart of this event with these bands.
The night started with a band that is local royalty up in Darwin, straight up rock act Roymackonkey. The band recently took out the Rock/Indie category in the Australian Songwriting Awards, which is no shock after you see how tight they play in person.
Next up was pop-punk band Skarlett, they are a getstuckinyourhead-butitsokay band. The band gives off such a fun vibe that you sing along with them, even if you don't know the lyrics. I heard their new songs for the first time and I was quite impressed, the songs felt really well written while holding some kind of theatrical influence within them.
The last act was post-hardcore band I, The Burden. They displayed a crazy amount of energy live, pushing the intensity onto their audience then feeding it back from them, on an non-stop cycle. I noticed the new direction of where the band is growing to, their new stuff felt very jazzy and captivating, yet still maintaining a tenacious grip on keeping it tough. I will continue being as supportive of this band as I can.
All in all, I very much enjoyed myself and the first experience of selling Soul Feeders gear at a gig. For all the Darwin residents reading this, I will continue selling products at the Malak gigs, and if you had purchased a shirt, thank you so much and please do take a picture and send it to us! -Jaiden.
Soul Feeders is here
Soul Feeders is finally here!
After a lot of prep work and a whole bunch of waiting, Soul Feeders has being launched. Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Jaiden, I live in Darwin, NT, which is a nice hot town. I've had the passion to create a clothing company for years, I had even attempted it once before, though I went into it very unprepared and uneducated the first time around.
I have launched Soul Feeders the exact way I had dreamt of. The printing was done by Threadbird, over in the US. I decided to go with them because to my knowledge they are insane with their quality, which I have discovered they are! The prints feel amazing, you can hardly even feel them on the shirt at all. The shirts I decided to use were Anvil 980's, they fit great and are extremely soft.
I hired a number of my favourite artists to work on the release, who absolutely killed it in my opinion. In the coming weeks I will make blog posts going more in depth of the concepts behind each design and the journey it took to get to the final product. The artists that worked on the first release were..
Andrew Haines who created 'Hand Of Evolution' design. The brief concept behind this was that humanity are the ones who are held responsible for the worlds current advances, all in our hands.
Paul Granese who designed the 'Fallen Mind' piece. The brief concept here is the feeling you may receive when there is just too much going on in your mind, to much to comprehend. So you feel like you're endlessly falling.
Dooom who designed the back design of 'Sightseer', I created the front of the design. This was a piece that Dooom had already created and I feel in love with it.
Michael Steinheiser (Wake The Dead) created our logo, which is featured on the 'Badge' tee. The brief for the logo was to create a modern, more personalized version of psychedelic text that was featured heavily in the 60's, which relates a lot to what Soul Feeders is about.
I had my very good friend Connor Askham take the photos for the line. He is an upcoming photographer, who I knew I could lay my trust in to make the products look good!
I can't wait to hear everyone's response to the brand, please let me know what your thoughts are. I plan on bringing out more products sooner then latter, more then just tee shirts too. This is all very exciting, I'm having a celebratory beer right now!
