꒦꒷ . ᵎᵎ  ˎˊ˗ㅤㅤㅤwhile  vahn'ik  was  originally  created  within  the  bounds  of  the  final  fantasy  xiv  lore  and  story  that  follows  the  warrior  of  light  through  all  current  expansions  ,  i  have  taken  several  liberties  with  his  character  and  my  interpretations  of  details  /  events  within  the  lore  to  expand  on  him  further  ,  both  in  and  out  of  the  xiv  story .  it  should  also  be  noted  that  this  blog  takes  many  inspirations  from  various  other  high  fantasy  settings  and  media .

𝑨  𝑹𝑬𝑻𝑹𝑶𝑺𝑷𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑽𝑬  𝑰𝑵  :  the  death  of  innocence  at  the  hands  of  someone  trusted  ,  dirt  from  the  graves  of  loved  ones  beneath  one's  nails  ,  fighting  as  a  means  to  survive  ,  fashioning  yourself  into  a  weapon  ,  vengeance  as  a  form  of  will  ,  suicidal  ideation  and  the  fantasization  of  finding  peace  in  death  ,  killing  one's  father  ,  revenge  ringing  hollow  ,  being  chosen  against  your  will  ,  an  old  soul  shattered  ,  the  violence  that  peace  requires  ,  guilt  weighing  as  it  should  ,  fighting  for  those  who  cannot  and  for  those  you  can  yet  save  ,  a  body  as  a  cage  ,  the  personification  of  death .

Healing is a journey and not a destination.

vahn  can  be  particularly  touchy  at  times  ,  but  it  will  generally  always  be  in  private  (  and  if  his  partner  is  okay  with  it  ).  in  public  he  still  has  smaller  ways  of  showing  attention  to  his  partner  (  again  if  they  want  it  )  ,  but  it  typically doesn't go  past  leaning  into  them  (  if  standing  /  sitting  )  ,  holding  hands  /  pinkies  ,  etc.  he  typically  isn't  someone  who  openly  flaunts  his  partner  around  ,  mainly  because  of  his  job  title  ,  he  doesn't  want  whoever  he  is  with  to  get  caught  up  in  the  hazards  of  his  occupation  just  because  they're  close  to  him. 

i  think  the  only  exception  to  this  sort  of  thing  is  in  more  intense  moments  /  reunions  /  etc.  where  he  cannot  help  but  pull  them  into  a  hug  or  in  some  way  let  the  sort  of  stoic  exterior  he  has  drop.
