Voodoo Trombone Quartet is UK ska band founded by multi-instrumentalist and just a good man Paul Thorpe in 2004. Everything started from publishing demos on the internet made using samples from TV and radio shows. This matherial caught attention of The Freshly Squeezed label where the collective’s first studio album was released in 2005. The record itself is a combination of classic Jamaica ska and popular music elements (guys describe it as “imaginary drum'n'brass fantasy” 🙃🎺).

So success didn’t make people wait it - the song “Voodoo Juju” appeared in Sony PSP version of video game “Little Big Planet” and became a hit.

In 2007 “The Phantom” EP was born. Muted horns, reggae-like bongo beats, thick basslines and repetetive loops contained in a record charge listener with a real groove power and keep this state for a very long time🎵

And latest band’s masterpiece of music production came out in 2008 as second studio album called “Again...”. The set in general contains funky and light songs with the 90-00s pop music vibe. Its theme is really different from previous works and that is, I think, even good because this gives a record the distinctive spirit of freshness that totally changes vision of this many-sided properly built music world turning up desire to return at the begginin’ of a trip and relisten the whole Voodoo Trombone Quartet over again 🎼🌏

This rare Daft Punk’s mix was played first in Fabric Club, London on December 17, 2001. In 2002 it was released on CD as limited edition promo mix for DaftClub members only. For a very long time it was being covered by legends and fakes, so it just must be called the most mysterious Daft Punk’s record of all the times... 👽

I decided to test some cool features of u-he Zebra VST and created this track. Sounds like HOME’s “Resounance”, doen’t it?

On this date but a year ago Twenty One Pilots released “Jumpsuit” single with “Nico And The Niners” on a B-side 💿 For most of their fans this set became a wonderfull and distinctive ride to new horizons of 🎼 , because it was completely different from everything the band has been working on before.

Original and atmospheric music videos for the songs played a big role in track promotion 🎥 The story about Dema city, Banditos and evil bishop Nico was a success having impressed million fans’ ❤️ with power of deep thought it contained. ❗️By the way, video for “Nico And The Niners” was shot in Kyiv, Ukraine on territory of Taras Shevchenko National University cybernetics department. For me as Kyiv citizen it was a real surprise...

After the delay lasting a couple of years Australian rock band The Basics finally announced their 5th studio album called “Faxing Zimbabwe” and made its pre-order avaible on Bandcamp (https://thebasics.bandcamp.com/album/faxing-zimbabwe). This time Kris, Tim and Wally recorded and mixed album fully by themselves.

Set contains rare and old songs (not only guys’ originals but also covers of their influences’ stuff) which the band properly arranged and put on a record. As the result they’ve got an amazingly rocky and vertiginous stuff which you can get on CD, vinyl and even casette! 💿🎸🎼🎧

It is time to talk about the the huge event coming soon related to french dance music...

Music Sounds Better with you is amazing single produced by Thomas Bangalter, Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond in 1998. In the same year it appeared at the first position of US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and spent 2 weeks there. Later it was considered as one of the biggest club hits of all times (according to Mixmag’s top).

Despite its simple (for a first look) sound the song started a new era in pop music inspiring most of musicians to create french house records and mix it with a mainstream.

Unfortunately after such amount of time lasted it still has not appeared in music stream sevices like Itunes or Spotify oficially. But this is gonna change soon: remastered version of the track is avaible for pre-order on new vinyl from Because Music lable with a new cover styled in blue and golden colours (http://www.music-sounds-better-with-you.com) with a bunch of other merch stuff, also there is a release of digital version coming soon (at the end of June) on most of services. The only thing we can do is waiting, and for me hoping that shipping will be allowed in Ukraine 🙂
