‏قال الإمام الحسن البصري رحمه الله:

لولا العلماء لصار الناس مثل البهائم

مختصر نصيحة أهل العلم 167

Al-Imām al-Hasan al-Basri [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“Were it not for the scholars, people would have become like cattle.”
