I do, actually! It's probably not what everyone wants to hear though. And for the record I really hope I'm wrong about this (I usually am 😂).

STTP: ~7.2-7.5, possibly even later.

Longer more explained version under the cut! And just so we're clear, it will obviously contain general spoilers for the most recent AQ (6.6).

I will try to make this as short as I can, but I'm not really known for my ability to get straight to the point, lol. That being said, I have a LOT of working theories here, and it honestly depends on the method through which Dottore gets brought back. Depending on the method, the timing could change.

Firstly: this post. If you wanna read about possible time frames or patches in which he could return with more specifics, I highly suggest giving it a read. The post itself is really good, and the comments under it provideore context as well. It's a reddit link, btw.

Alright, now I'll get into my personal belief of when he'll return! This is based on all sorts of theories I've read across multiple platforms including the backlogs and dialogues of the game itself in some instances. I'm actively (semi-daily) checking sources on Reddit, Discord, Tumblr, Tiktok, official game pages and in-game references, YouTube, and sometimes even FB to look for any hints or clues or an offical statement or post from Hoyo. The only places I can't check (nor do I want to) is X and Insta, since I don't have an account there. X is usually full of people arguing anyways though, so... I digress!

Personally? I think he'll make a reappearance sometime between 7.1-7.3. And when I say reappearance, I do mean just that. While I do think there was a particular emphasis on the separation between Dottore and Zandik during the last AQ, I also think Dottore has done enough villainous deeds that just burning with Irminsul was not enough by itself to "purify" or redeem him in the eye of players and devs. I believe that when he does return, before he becomes playable, we'll have to witness him make a physical attempt at redemption in-game first. In turn, this means watching him potentially try to fix issues Omega created, or contribute to the Traveler's cause, or aid the Traveler in some fashion.

There is a really high potential for him to return on-screen without being playable for a while so that the devs can build up "Zandik's" story instead of just Dottore's. I think it's also commonly accepted that most of us think he'll go by Zandik now that he's had all the segments (a.k.a the separate portions of his soul) returned to him through death by the burning of Irminsul.

So! Potential timeline, IMO:

7.0: Little to no crumbs on Dottore's return, other than what we already have. Mostly focused on the general story of Snezhnaya and Traveler. This is supported by the lack of leaks surrounding anything from 7.0+ as well. They might drop us a tiny little crumb if we're lucky or if it's necessary for the story.

7.1: A bit more potential for Dottore related content in general. Now that the introduction to Snezhnaya and the starting AQ is out of the way, we're more likely to see sub plots showing through. If we're extremely lucky, we could get a world quest related to him or his return. What I think is more likely is that we'll get some pre-text for it, though. Still nothing direct or official.

7.2: Higher potential for a Dottore ties to the AQ. Starting potential for his fully fleshed out/active return imo, especially if they want him to be on-screen for a few patches while he redeems his prior actions.

7.3: More potential for WQ involving his active return. Maybe his story quest? I believe character silhouettes also get released around this time if they continue this tradition with Snezhnaya, so we could potentially see him there.

7.4: Another AQ patch I think? I know they alternate with events in between and I don't usually keep track of timelines/patterns for Hoyo's AQ's, so that's not for sure. But if it is AQ, I think Pantalone should be involved by this point, as he plays an integral role in bringing Dottore back. Potential for Dottore to be directly involved in the main story again.

7.5: This is by far the most likely patch that I've found for his release. The timing will line up around February, the second month of the year, and Dottore is the second Harbinger of the Fatui. Even with all the pattern changes hoyo has made, they've kept to this one with the harbingers. There's other reasons why mentioned in the linked post up top as well. I believe that if we haven't at least heard anything concrete about his playability by this patch, then we have a right to start getting concerned. By now we should have at least had drip marketing, a general announcement, or an undeniable statement or quote from Hoyo (meaning there is no doubt whatsoever that it relates to ONLY Dottore) about his character and playability.

7.6+: This one is pretty far out, and the farther out we get, the harder it is to predict. That being said, assuming he hasn't been released yet, there is a VERY SLIM potential that they are saving him for Celestia or Khaenri'ah. If that's the case, we likely won't hear anything else about him for a while other than little lore drops or ties into the past story arcs. It'll be a bit similar to how Capitano exists in game but is just... sleeping (dead but not dead, ya know?).

Basically, that's how I see everything happening.
