btw, on that note, one time when i was like 15 i very randomly decided to subscribe to this one school chess tournament,

cause i was like "oh yea! i kinda wanna just try to go out more and try out some new things" and this was the most random ass chess tournament on our random ass nowhere city

i go in and have a little bit of fun for 2 rounds, since i never actually tried out chess since then w some other guys who also never did,

but then

imagine literally a scene from a movie, where im sitting there, i make the first move and my opponent didnt even show up yet so i just mark the timer and like wait, and im like "oh man this is gonna be easy, i feel kinda bad for the person whos so late actually"

and then this girl shows up, sits there with half of my time, proceeds to just ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DESTROY ME while she just kinda looks at me wierd like "who tf is that"

and then i leave just kinda embarassed cause not only did she keep looking at me but also i got corrected for breaking some rule like 3 separate times, and like, then i learn shes some state tournaments like champion??????? who just is here on fuckin nowhereville for some reason??

i legit just got the "loser whos here to get owned by the mc to show how awesome and cool they are" webtoon character treatment
