I'm a 40 year old lady from the grandest state in the US, South Carolina! History is my passion, my life, and my everything. I am a living historian, mainly of the American Civil War era, when my health permits me to do so. Here you will find a little bit danger, a little bit of preppiness, a lot of classic rock, some random uniqueness, and a whole lot about South Carolina! I'm also a self-proclaimed historical fashion historian; and last but not least, a mostly advanced genealogist. This blog mainly runs on a (massive) queue. This is my Tumblr, y'all!
Dude, my Mom woke me up to tell me the news and I nearly flipped out the bed from sitting up so fast in shock! How is Lindsey dead and they break the news over night but we can't get a real word out of Mitch McConnell for weeks now???
Yesterday, I picked up my little dachshund Carolina because she wouldn't stop barking at my cat, and once I stood up and adjusted her in my arms, she dragged her claws across the right side of my collar bone where my shunt tubing is making me nearly come out of my skin. She didn't mean to do it, so of course I didn't fuss at her for it. Today it's still hurting around that area where she hit my tubing and I can feel the tubing on my collar bone so obviously that it's making my skin crawl. This is such an uncomfortable thing. I think I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard, lol.
Y'all, the drought here is so bad that our grass is dying. Storms will pop up nearby but then go around us completely missing us. The storms will produce rain in the other places around here, but we haven't had actual rain in so long now. The drought has caused the town to ask people here to conserve water as much as possible not long ago. The times it has rained here in town this year, it's been like one thousandth of an inch accumulation. It was thundering and about to storm about 30 minutes ago, but yet again, the storm missed us.
Send some water my way if y'all don't mind.
Bonus picture of our stray kitties and best buddies, Charlie and Davy. They wanted to model for the camera on the grass for y'all, haha.
