"Rokurou never partook in anything of the sort, neither did Kiba. Now that you mention it he usually disappeared around this time."

"She’s got a mate here. Don’t ya think that’s enough? Should she be disloyal an’ just leave? Or how bout her responsibilities to the tribe she’s leavin’?" He hated arguing with her. He wasn’t sure if they’d ever see eye to eye on this. "What if that was you n’ Rokurou in that position? Would you just leave him?" He hoped that argument might make her understand a little better. Or at least calm down enough to think.
"I get it alright? Yer lonely. Ya miss her. Ya need her cause he barely gives ya time of day. But yer gonna push her away more n’ I don’t wanna see you hurt more when she does that. She know’s how ta do shit. She’s grown. Goin’ through shit an’ learnin’. If ya could just sit back an’ watch I bet ya’d be proud. She’s strong….if not a lil scary."
All it took was one statement, that one statement that had her wide crimson eyes, staring up at him in words that nearly tore her apart. She had... what? Izumi never knew. "...M-M... How do you know?" It couldn't possibly be true! There was no way she'd be able to keep a secret like that. But the look on Masaru's face, he showed no inclination of falsehood. He was telling the truth.
She didn't hear nothing else, her eyes never wavering from him. She felt her hands almost shake, the emotion vibrating from deep within her. Tears started to stream down, her mind repeating his statement over and over in her head. It wasn't fair... Soon the tears turned into sobbing, the female youkais shoulders shaking.
"Shes never gonna come home...."

"Ya want what her father wants. An’ that isn’t what she wants. I don’t think it’s got as much ta do with you as ya think." He was observant. Maybe a little nosy. If Keyanna left for the South, Koga would be devastated. And the secret….would end up…..ended.
Masaru didn’t believe that. Even if he was her father. Rokurou was a user and lost his temper when he didn’t get what he wanted. “He doesn’t seem the type ta get lonely. He wants her home fer his own reasons. From everythin’ I’ve gathered, she’s not givin’ up her tribe. Especially to whelp a kid.” He was almost afraid to think what might happen if she birthed females over males. What would Rokurou do?
"Theres nothing for her here," she could feel her voice shaking, the tiniest bit of panic that was coating her throat. Why was he resisting her on this. He was supposed to have her side, Masaru was her friend, he needed to support her in this. Why did he seem so against it?
"S-stop trying to talk me out of this! Its the best thing for everyone involved, don't you understand?!" She tried to restrain herself from yelling, but she was getting frustrated now. "She's not gonna know how to do this on her own. I have to teach her. She needs time with me! She is my child Masaru do not fight me on my decision!"

"Nothin’ wrong with a little flirtin’. Especially if one is a lone wolf. I have my limits. I have some self respect, morals an’ what not." He had started off wanting to laugh it off but his tone grew serious. Masaru respect for those who had morals. For those who used their brains. And for loyalty.
He sighed and put a hand on her shoulder giving it a soft rub. He hadn’t meant for her to become upset. “I know. Maybe ya should get back in somehow. But sendin’ Kiba ta punish her or enforce what everyone else wants probably ain’t the way ta go.” He spoke softly.
Izumi kept her mouth closed, her eyes staring backwards towards him. She stayed silent for a moment, trying to get comfort from the hand that laid against her shoulder. For some reason, it only proved to make things worse in that sense. "...She needs to be home, in the south. It is what's best for her. I am her mother, I know whats best..."
She had that ideal in her mind, and clung onto it with every fiber of her being. Everything she was doing, it was for the right reasons. She didn't believe that she was wrong. "Rokurou misses her... He's lonely I can tell. She needs to come home."

He chuckled and winked at Izumi, his sly smile growing. “Not like we aim ta do that.” He was sure she wouldn’t believe that. “Don’t ya think she’s a little old for a babysitter?” He queried, canting his head. “Just cause he can handle her doesn’t mean he should. Yer only pushin’ her away more. Just let her be. She might appreciate it more.”
"Oh please Masaru, you were a little flirt, and still are. I'm sure that boy of yours is the same," she rolled her eyes, frowning at the look he gave her. "...I did give her time. I did leave her alone," she muttered, feeling something dark overcome her heart. "For fifty years I let her be, by herself... I didn't even get a letter, or a call from her. Unless I try... She won't have anything to do with me..."

"Hate to tell ya. Koga’s not got an interest in the redhead. Not that kind anyway. Not from what I’ve seen. An’ if she’s not what he wants then we all gotta accept that. Your ‘sweetheart’ can handle herself I think. She’s just gonna keep hostile with if you always put Kiba up her ass."
"Well then, he is a big boy he can make his own decisions. He's a little heart breaker just like his papa," she chuckled a bit, running her fingers down through her long hair. "Kiba's always been able to handle her, she will have her panties in a tiff but the young lady will get over it."

"So it seems. An’ the pups are puttin’ a lot of stock in the elders rules. Old rules. What are we ta do?"
"My sweetheart always gets her nose out of joint with every little thing, i'll have Kiba reign her in, calm her down. Then the redhead may do whatever she likes with the boy."

“Watch it.” He spat, irritated with her words. Yes, there was fear but he wasn’t one to admit that straight on like she was intending him to. He constantly feared the thought of losing Keyanna, losing his family, being unable to succeed as a leader. It was all too difficult for him to think of and it near made him anxious from it all. He didn’t want to disappoint anyone.
"I will be fine once I get the trainin’, it’s as simple as that. I ain’t gunna lose shit all."
She assumed it was going to be Taichi to train him. The thought brought a not so welcome memory to her head, her eyes narrowing when he spoke to her. "I'd watch that tone, you aren't the leader yet. And even though I have no wish to be at war with Kiba's family that doesn't mean i'll take kindly to that," she hissed lowly, her eyes rising to give him an all to familiar glare.
"It takes a certain kind of person to be leader, you can have the training in the world, sometimes it's not going to make a difference."
"Boy."
"… Yes I should be. I have some trainin’ to do still, but it ain’t fer ya to decide how much of a leader I am. That’s fer my tribe to decide when the time comes. I ain’t afraid of his shadow, I’m a different person. Would be moronic to expect to live up to what he was, when I ain’t that. Things’ll be different when I’m leader."
"Thats a bold statement for someone who doesn't believe it himself." She frowned, watching the way his blue eyes flashed against the word he was saying. His words were confident, but lacked body. It was almost like he didn't feel what he was saying. "Being a leader is a big responsibility. Tell me pup. What's got ya so scared?"
"Afraid you'll lose something?"

"… He ‘n I got two different kinds of intelligence to put it one way. I ain’t really see him all that interested in computers. I learned young, worked fer my benefit when I needed it." He wouldn’t compare his intelligence to Kiba, he was aware his brother was smarter, but he felt he was more knowledgeable in the technological department.
"I see. I assume you are the one taking over for Taichi? Seeing as Kiba never really showed interest in it anymore. Do you believe you are ready to live in the shadow of your father? You don't look much like a leader to me." She spoke truthfully whether she meant it to be insulting or just a statement in itself was undetermined.
