An odd sensation ran through her form as the wolf laid on what felt like grass, her body feeling as if it hadn’t moved in a long time. She didn’t remember laying down, she couldn’t recall where she was in all honesty. Was she dreaming? Mio couldn’t be certain unless she opened her eyes, but as she tried they felt almost sealed shut. How long had she been asleep to feel so bogged down like this? This wasn’t like her at all. Even if it was perhaps due to something Taichi brewed up for her the night before, she still came back from it rather easily. No, something was off.

Against her bodies wishes the wolf forced her eyes open slowly, the sky above her a mixture of colors; oranges and purples dancing in the sky. It was dusk...? Why was it so late? She didn’t understand what was going on. Pushing herself off the ground Mio managed to sit up, rubbing her head and eyes as her mind began to make sense of her situation.

Hmm. What did she remember? Certainly not this.... Fighting. That’s right. She was fighting last she could recall. Though to her confusion there was no bodies anywhere, not even a trace of blood. How peculiar. Wait, where was her family? That lit a fire under her to spring from the ground, frantically looking around to catch a glimpse of her mate or her baby boy.

But... Nothing.

They were gone. Where? As Mio took steps to run to find them she felt her foot step on something and then a strange weight came over her accompanied by pain. She felt herself collapse part way to the ground, eyes darting to what she stepped on. “Ah...” She muttered softly as her shaking hand reached down and grabbed the doll from beneath her, the weight now feeling lifted from her being. Disgusting and cruel magic in her books, yet it only left her with more questions than answers to her problem. It wasn’t as if in life Mio had ever befriended any witches, let alone crossed them. Or did she? Taichi was unfortunately a loud mouth, so... Perhaps it was unheard of.

Even still despite the vague explanation of her form, it didn’t answer why she was there, who brought her back and where her family was; the latter being more important to her at the moment. Knowing her luck Taichi had done something stupid if he too was around. He was useless without her. While uncertainly was the only thing to lay ahead of her the she-wolf slowly began walking without a direction, hoping to find even just a glimpse of her family.

“...I’m late for work.” 

The female brushed past the other, her shoulder pressing against her slightly as she passed over. She didn’t say anything more on the subject, her eyes trained straight ahead, an expressionless look taking over her face. She reached the corner of the house, turning towards the wolf woman that stood in the drive way. “Yer son fell asleep on the couch, he’s probably still there. Doors unlocked, I probably won’t be back until tomorrow…”

“… Sorry I can’t visit. I’ll uh… see you later...”

“I wouldn’t be going if I didn’t get paid for it. I have lots of other stuff I could be doing rather than going on a field trip.” She had a load of laundry to do, not to mention walking both dogs because the idiot was too lazy to get off his ass to do it. Not only that she didn’t expect him to get up until at least noon. She wasn’t about to waste the entire day waiting around for him.

“My boss is an ass, but he ain’t nothing I can’t handle,” Keyanna was used to dealing with stubborn men, her boss was no different. Keyanna crossed her arms under her bust, arching an eyebrow towards the older female. “I don’t work that much, besides that, I got shit I need to pay off. My health will be fine, i’m used to not sleeping.” She left out her loss of appetite as well, not wanting the older wolf to judge her. It irked her to a certain degree, that she cared so much what the other woman thought of her… Fucking hell.

“If you are in need of assistance with things, then allow me to be useful. I find myself growing rather tiresome of being around the house all day. Especially now that Taichi is out and about once more with the snow melting.” The poor dear seemed exhausted. Dark hues under her eyes, frail appearance, not to mention lack of color in her face. Wait---- wasn’t this child pale normally? No matter.

“Things can be paid off in time, putting your health aside for too long can result in very dangerous health issues if not addressed sooner than later. Sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations, irritability and can even effect how you interact with people.” Mio approached her without warning, her hands reaching out and feeling her figure. Who cares about person space? “Hmm... You seem thinner than the last I saw you. I shall make you some meals. Have you remembered to eat during all this time you are not over working?”

She got extremely uncomfortable, feeling a nervous twitch under her skin with the older woman wrapped her hand around her arm. She stared at her, her eyes dropping to the fingers that held her in her grasp. Slowly she inched it out, freeing her wrist from it. “I need to start earlier, going out of town to pick up some parts. Its going to be a long fuc-… A long trip.” She bit her tongue a bit, frowning before walking back towards the bus stop.

“I know. But there ain’t nothing to tell. Just… busy I guess. But i’d rather be busy than not at all. Keeps my fucking mind on track and shit.” She let those curse words slip, blushing slightly when she realized it.

There was a place in her mind that made the wolf wonder if her ‘daughter’ did not trust her enough to speak with her. Had there been a moment where Keyanna could doubt her? None that she was aware. Perhaps she was reading too much into it all. Ren seemed rather convinced not long ago, her husband truly not helping with that. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if he was the route of all the confusion.

“Your boss shouldn’t expect you to do things on your own time as I do not believe you will be compensated for your troubles, so there is nothing wrong with starting on time my dear child.” Mio’s eyes narrowed a bit not convinced by her words. “Is there something else that is troubling you that is causing you to experience these symptoms then? Because I must discourage you from working too much for it can also be hazardous for your health among other things.”

“If I am well informed I hear that you traditionally leave early for work, so I believe that you can spare me a few moments of your time to give me a true answer to my inquirey.” The she-wolf’s hand reached out and took her arm in her hand keeping the young pup from leaving. There was something strange about her lately, Mio feeling quite out of the loop if she were to be honest.

“Please dear, you can trust me to keep things between us if you are feeling distrust towards me and the question itself. I have no reason to inform others. It’s not my place, but I wish to know that you are alright.”
