I'm so bad at being on Tumblr and I said more fics were coming... I do miss writing, but sometimes I just need a break from the internet. It seems like anywhere you go online as an Elvis fan, the hate gets a lot sometimes. Too much. I'm a big believer of "ignore the haters" but it is. so. freaking. hard. People who Google a quick thing and don't do their proper research pretend they know everything about Elvis, see him as some kind of monster and it fucking breaks my heart. Because we know he wasn't like that. He wasn't all those ugly names I'm not even gonna repeat.
They don't know him as the kind man he was. The generous man he was. The soft man he was. The respectful man he was. The strong man he was.
They see the Priscilla movie and take it as gospel, but they don't look further than that. They don't wanna open their eyes and realise Priscilla is one of the least credible sources in the Elvis world. And I'm so so sooo fucking sick of it. If you don't like Elvis Presley, fucking scroll along. Don't watch that Tiktok video about him. Don't act like an Elvis fan is a monster for liking him. Don't act like you know shit when most of us have been researching the man for YEARS. It's INSANITY. Leave us fans the fuck alone and go on with your life.

Lately, I’ve seen people dragging Vernon’s name through the mud, blaming him for Elvis’ decline. And I have to say — enough is enough.
Yes, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but when you start calling Vernon a “lazy simpleton” or claim he “worked Elvis to death like Parker,” you’re crossing the line. That’s not just disrespectful — it’s inaccurate.
Here’s the truth: Vernon Presley did what he had to do to support his son and manage an empire that was bigger than any of us can imagine. But let’s not forget who was in the driver’s seat — Elvis himself.

it's kind worrisome (and weird) how many elvis fics have that "lolita" type of feel on here, with the reader being all doll like and innocent and calling e "daddy" and shit like that. i mean i get it everyone has their own stuff they like but come on now...
People should write what they want, however I do agree with your point. It's very hard to find something to read that indicates reader and Elvis are around the same age or that reader is even of legal age in some cases. I think in some ways it kind of feeds into the "Elvis likes younger girls" narrative, and then makes it ten times worse by adding so much Daddy stuff to it, etc. To each their own, but yeah... it kinda sucks that these types of stories are the main focus now when that wasn't the case a few years back.
