SAINT MAUD (2019) DIR. ROSE GLASS
Then I came back to Christine. She was waiting for me..."Erik here rose solemnly. Then he continued, but, as he spoke, he was overcome by all his former emotion and began to tremble like a leaf: "Yes, she was waiting for me... waiting for me erect and alive, a real, living bride... as she hoped to be saved..."
“horror movies of the 1980s exist at the glorious watershed when special visual effects finally catch up with the gory imaginings of horror fans and movie makers. technical advances in special effects (animatronics, liquid and foam latex) meant the human frame could be distorted to grotesque new dimensions on screen. 1980s horror movies delivered the full colour close-up, look-no-strings-attached, special effect in a way that previous practitioners of the art could only dream about. everything lurking in the shadows in older horror movies was now dragged into the garish light of day. the monsters were finally out of the closet.”
Near Dark dir. Kathryn Bigelow | 1987
Take responsibility
Since it's been six(?) months since I fell for Del Toro's Frankenstein and my love has yet to waver, so I decided I needed a Frankenthemed desktop background. I have three monitors that I use in very specific ways, which is why the second picture has two blank windows--I have folders and miscellaneous crap to go there. Similarly, I keep icons to the far right of my horizontal monitor, which is why the fun stuff is all regulated to the left
You can download the full res versions of these right over here
and just bc its a huge reason I'm still this in love with this movie; y'all fuckin rock. This fandom is so fun and full of the sweetest most understanding freaks. Keep being awesome; you make me want to be awesome!
