A SIM-ulated reconstruction of the town of South Park. Done using The Sims 3 with all expansion packs. Multiple runs expected. Current run: Tweek. Click here fo a full explanation! https://southparksimulation.tumblr.com/post/618054431169265664/the-sim-ulation
Well, it was bound to happen eventually.
While Tweek was trying his hardest to enjoy the festival and make some lasting friendships, a certain whirlwind of chaos appeared on the scene.Â
And he immediately attacked every snow angel and igloo he could find.Â
Eh. I guess thatâs not too terrible. This kidâll have to turn up the heat if he wants to be on the same level as the real Eric Cartman.
Yes! Like plotting diamond heists with your cat! Now THATS a SIMulated Cartman!
Still, Tweek managed to finally have some fun right at the end of the festival, despite Cartmanâs sudden appearance.
He and his new friends had a good time hanging out by the iconic disgusting rotted tractor. Tetanus-y!
But the best part by far was when he made a big olâ snowman with Craig and Kyle. I guess Tweek managed to make some good friends after all!
That pool though... Maybe a dog bone wasnât the best shape idea, maxis.
It turned out that the winter festival was the perfect place to meet some more friends!
We caught this guy after he decided to build an entire igloo directly in front of where Tweek was studying.Â
It was the perfect place for him to retreat to whenever he got spooked by his own spectral mom. Handy!
We even managed to find Craig again while on our way to greet Kyle. Aww, theyâre friends! What are they talking about, Tweek?
Oh. Judging by that expression, Iâm guessing theyâre talking about you. They couldâve at least waited until you were out of earshot to make fun of you. Sorry, Tweek.Â
Hey, maybe Stan isnât so mean! Where even is he anyway? Maybe he can be your best friend!
Nevermind. Heâs hanging out alone in a deserted lot with a deformed snowman that I suspect he murdered himself.Â
Even though Tweek was adjusting well to life in the SIMulated South Park...
To the point where he barely even noticed the zombies hanging around his house all night and laughing at apparently hilarious snapchats...
He was still a kid and far preferred going out to have fun.
Luckily for him, some kind of winter festival was going on! They even had special snack booths set up!Â
And they were being run by Chef and Mrs. Broflovski in horrible stripey outfits! Mr. Donovan and his ghost wife were free to enjoy all the funnel cakes they wanted!Â
Tweekâs mom was even joining into the fun. She and Butterâs mom decided it would be fun to do an impromptu ice skating routine.Â
It was a shame when they both realized that neither of them had any clue HOW to ice skate.Â
Sadly, Tweek decided he would have to finish his homework before he could have any fun. So he sat out a good portion of the festival half buried in the freezing snow working on math problems.Â
He was too busy to even notice Bebeâs dad pulling off SICK SNOW TRICKS right behind him! Poor thing.Â
Itâs okay, Mr. Stevens. I saw your radical performance.Â
Tweek and I tried to meet someone new. I mean, the poll wanted Tweek and Craig to be best friends and eventually date, and he was right there...
But then the game glitched out and Tweek was forced back home. Oh well. No hatless Craig hanging out by a haunted house for you, Tweek. Weâll have to try again next time.Â
On another note, though; remember Tweekâs doll Punch? He decided to come to life.
But Tweek wanted NONE OF THAT and simply screamed at the possessed puppet until he disappeared forever.Â
Thatâs right. You tell him Tweek. You donât need that nonsense in your life. Now you can panic about hypothetical parties in peace.
One magical morning, after a dead-eyed discussion about boxing over a meal of leftover sandwiches, Tweek had a birthday~!
That meant it was time for him to grow into a child!
It involved a lot more sparkles than I had expected.Â
Unfortunately for me, there were only, like, 7 hair styles for children. And not one of âem was nearly messy or ratty enough to really look like Tweek. Oh well. But he sure acted like Tweek with the personality traits the fans decided for him!Â
What do you think of your grown up little baby, Mr and Mrs Tweak?
Letâs just say, they were less than impressed.Â
Finally, I placed all the other households in the town, truly transforming the sim neighborhood into South Park! Now began the fun part; watching all the insanity unfold with all these crazy characters free to do as they pleased!Â
And we would start by taking Tweek outside to finally meet some of his new neighbors~
Letâs face it; the Tweakâs arenât great parents.Â
So after getting sick to death of seeing them ignore their sobbing baby cuz they juST HAVE TO FINISH THEIR CEREAL FIRST DANGIT, I decided to take the reigns and get this kid raised.
After a bit of fighting, the Tweakâs were finally making progress with their son. In no time at all they were teaching him how to walk-
And reading him stories that they bought from a grocery store. Iâm not really sure why the kitchen floor seemed the best option for sitting, but at least Tweek was learning!Â
Now set on the right path, I eased up on the leash again and let the Tweakâs take charge again. If they still failed, I could at least argue that I had tried.Â
So of course they immediately taught Tweek what was most important in life.Â
It wasnât long at all before tiny little Tweek grew from a newborn into a toddler. He even got a creepy doll from some unnamed aunt out of nowhere? I asked other fans to name the doll and it was dubbed âPunchâ.
And then we had a visitor.Â
But lady cop and lady robber (as well as her thoughts about a new hat) were nothing compared to MR. TWEAKS RAGE AT THE BURGLAR ALARM. HOW DARE YOU ALERT ME TO AN INTRUDER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.Â
Mrs. Tweak heard the commotion and came down, too. Maybe sheâd be a tad more observant.Â
Wait. Nope. Now theyâre just ranting to each other about how much they hate burglar alarms. The robber and her thoughts of a new mask to go with her new hat went completely unnoticed.Â
Thatâs okay, though. Thanks to that alarm, nothing was stolen. Accept maybe a little bit more of the Tweakâs already dwindling sanity.Â
Thatâs right, Tweek! Run!! Escape while you can!!
Welcome to your hideously ugly nursery, tiny little Tweek! Letâs see if your parents can actually raise a child!
Mr. Tweak met his tiny newborn son and...
Iâm... not exactly sure what that face is supposed to convey?Â
Well, like it or not, youâre stuck with him, buddy. Better make the most of it and be the best parents you can be!
Or, you know, just leave the baby on the floor. That works too, I guess.Â
Now fully adjusted to their new town and new home, I spent the next few days getting geared for a child.Â
After almost a week, Mrs. Tweek stopped and looked up at me with... this expression..?
Which I suppose was her very confusing way of telling me she was pregnant! Because immediately afterwards, she began âpregnant-waddlingâ everywhere she went.Â
Even before she had gained any weight..Â
Thatâs not how it works, hun. Youâre gonna throw out your dang back.Â
Mr Tweak passed the time during the pregnancy enduring Mrs. Tweakâs mood swings by sitting down and watching nice shows about houses on fire while talking about rakes.
It was only after months of set up that I was able to start this simulation. With the poll choosing Tweek as the player controlled character, I started by placing Mr and Mrs Tweak. The other households would wait in limbo until Tweek was born and reached childhood.Â
Again, I apologize for everyones terrible hair and outfits. It was the best I could doooo~
Move-in day was very exciting. Especially because I canât design houses to save my life, haha.Â
But thatâs okay. All it took was some tissues and a laundry basket to impress the Tweakâs. So it all worked out!
We were also sure to be greeted by our resident Llama-man, who dropped off some weird basket of strange gifts that was promptly placed in a corner and forgotten about. Oh well.Â
They were too broke to own a coffee shop or even work in one, so I was forced to choose whatever career choices came by first. Mr. Tweak took a job as a teacher, while Mrs. Tweak became a self published author and independent gardener.Â
And both of them spent all of their time âwriting mean posts on the internetâ. Lovely.Â
Simply put, itâs a painstaking reconstruction of the town of South Park forged in the world of The Sims 3. TONS of effort went into its creation, which took literal weeks to complete. The simulation is mostly left to its own devices to see just how well it mimics the show it was based upon, which has lead to more than itâs fair share of ridiculous results.Â
So brace yourselves for the full explanation of just how this project was created!
Obviously, it wouldâve taken me far too long to make absolutely everyone and everything from the show down to the tiniest detail, so I had to cut some corners here and there. For instance; all the houses besides the player characters house, Tokenâs house, and the Chef house were all the same generic model that mimics the average home in the south park universe. I did take the time to make them different colors, though, haha.Â
To start out, I had to handmake all the adults for every family I chose to include. The households created included Marsh, Broflovski, Cartman, McCormick, Stotch, Tweak, Donovan, Tucker, Black, Stoley, Testaburger, and Stevens. To do this, I used the actual character designs to sculpt the faces. For instance; some of the characters have more prominent eyebrows, longer noses, or rounder faces. All of these physical characteristics were translated to the best of my ability into the 3-d models. Hair was a real sticking point, since there were some styles that I simply couldnât mimic well. So I was forced to make some adjustments here and there. The outfits were a pain, too, since I was trying very hard not to make them all look identical. Finally, I applied personality traits that I and a group of fellow fans found fitting for the characters in question. For instance; Bebeâs mother has the trait of âstupidâ, and Cartmans mother has the trait of âflirtyâ, etc.Â
I polled a group of fellow fans to decide which character I would be following from conception to adulthood. The winner of the poll was Tweek Tweak. So I started the file with Mr and Mrs Tweak.Â
After helping them to adjust to their new home, I allowed them to have their child. The game generated the kid based on how I modeled the parents, since there really isnât a good way to tell the kids apart in the show when they have the same face. I made sure to pick out the appropriate personality traits, though, as well as a fitting hairstyle and outfit. This was even harder for the kids since their options were even more limited.Â
Once Tweek grew from a newborn into a full fledged Child, I began generating the other kids. For example; I would select the Marsh household and tell it to generate a âmale childâ and a âfemale teenagerâ. I mostly left the faces alone, since they were again sculpted by using the parents as a template, and so are as close to the real thing as I can hope for. But I gave them fitting hair, personalities, and outfits, and added them to the household. When all the kids were generated, the other families were placed all across the town so the Tweaks could meet and interact with them.Â
I also made a house simply called âThe Chef Houseâ. In it, Chef was the only adult. I put four kids with him that didnât have super defined parents, since I wouldnât have had to room to include their households and wasnât willing if I didnât have a good enough reference. These kids had their faces sculpted by hand, since there were no parents to generate them from. These were Nichole, Scott, Red, and Heidi.Â
A Goth house was later created as well, putting all the âgoth kidsâ in a single family. They, again, had to be sculpted by hand.Â
Ike was also sculpted by hand, since he is adopted. But since there was no way to make a âcanadianâ sim, I just chose the most generic face I could. How else was I supposed to represent little dot eyes? heh.
At this point, I pretty much let the simulation take over. Other than the Tweakâs, I didnât have direct control over any of the characters running around the town. I did my best to keep an eye on them to see all the shenanigans they got into, and they surprisingly stayed in character! Sometimes to scary levels! Iâd catch Kyle and Cartman getting into a heated argument, Stan following Wendy to hang out at a park across the town, even Craig dressing up and playing spaceman! No fooling! It was pretty wild!Â
I took TONS of photos to document the insanity. And thatâs what youâll be seeing here!
Eventually, I aged all the kids up to teenagers to keep the simulation going. It was a tough decision, but the children sims are so limited in what they can do. Aging them up allowed them to become even more interesting and in-character. To age them, I used the âBirthday Cakeâ, which automatically took their child features and reworked them into more teenager-like proportions. I had to rework their hair and clothes by myself, but the faces were always auto-generated by the game. I also got to add a new trait to each, and I was sure to give them what I felt was fitting. Once all the kids including Tweek had been aged to teens (as well as teens like Shelly aged to young adults and toddlers like Ike aged to children) I continued the simulation!Â
I took MORE photos! Itâs gonna take me a while to share them all! But I kept a save file of the town before the age-up, so I can go back to them being kids at any time!Â
I once again used fan polls to decide on any relationships. The poll, unsurprisingly, voted for Tweek to begin a relationship with Craig, which was easy enough since I had control of Tweek. As for the other relationships, they were a tad more difficult. By inviting two characters to a place simultaneously, I could coax certain characters into deeper relationships. This was usually effective, but sometimes the simulation just decided things on its own. Clyde and Bebe hooked up before I even attempted to intervene, and Kyle developed a crush on Heidi on his own. But, following the polls, I did manage to get Token and Nichole to begin dating and even had a large amount of people request I persuade Stan and Kyle together. None of these are permanent. On the next run, I will make a new poll to decide future relationships, so donât be dissapointed if your ship doesnât show up on this run!Â
Eventually I will age the teens into adults, which will cause them to want to move out on thier own. It will also allow them to officially pair up and marry, hopefully leading to some weird kids of their own! And once I get sick of how its progressing, I just go back to the beginning and pick a different family to follow through their life!Â
Side note: it was with a heavy heart that I decided against including characters like Timmy and Jimmy. Sims 3 doesnât exactly have the option to create people with handicaps, and I felt it wouldnt be right to create them without that option. I apologize.Â
So enjoy the wacky adventures created by a SIMulation of everyones favorite little mountain town! I promise the SIM version is just as weird as the show version~!
