“There we go. Hey…you hungry?”
Crouching down and reaching into one of the bags he’d placed down, Mercer pulled out several packages of raw meat that he’d been planning on cooking that night for Schu and himself…but the way he saw it, this guy probably needed them more. Tearing open one of the packages, he extended the bloody steak towards the towering creature with a soft smile.
“Go ahead. It’s good stuff, I promise. I’ve gotten a lot more picky these days, thanks to a certain girl.”
While being treated like an infant did not amuse the ancient beast, at the same time, he could not deny the fact that he hungered quite fiercely. Normally in a dormant state, his needs are quieted by the simple fact of long he slumbered. Obviously, that was not the case any longer. And so, stooping low, the beast would lower its head, sniffing curiously at the offered meal. So this was human prepared meat, was it? Interesting.
Biting down, he lifted it from the ground, and throwing back its head, downed the meat in one gulp. It was strange, different than anything else it had eaten. With only the meat to consume, and nothing else barring the taste, it was actually quite exquisite. Interesting. Humans were so peculiar. A nodding motion of its head would be his attempt at expressing gratitude.
