                FIRE. it’s the first thing that Schuyler’s brought to attention as she enters sector six. If she remembers her last time in the city, it’s not the first time that the sector’s been set on fire. This time, though, it’s different-- it wasn’t just a result of a crazy pyromaniac set on rebelling against the scientists, but a result of something inhuman.  A chill shivers down her spine as roars fill her ears, people are screaming, and the air is thick with smoke, the area around her too warm to move comfortably.  For a sector that thrived on oxygen and life, none of that existed anymore. 

                               And oh, she felt so alone. 

                  Coughing, she moves forward, looking for a safe haven away from danger. Was there even anyone around at this point? Was Alex here? Were any of her friends here? Whatever the case was, she finally cupped her hands, hoping to amplify her now weak voice. 

                        ❝ Help! ❞

                  Perhaps this wasn’t the smartest move she’s made, but it was better than being a sitting duck. Someone still had to be around. Though, she could sense his presence. She isn’t sure how, or where, but it was enough for her to keep pushing through the fire and smoke. 

                   She needed to find him, and quick.

“Good day, folks.  We’re back with a new edition of the Hive City Encyclopedia.  Today, we’re gonna be discussin’ some bad choices fer an ... interest.  Y’know, the summer is among us and yer gonna be seein’ some nice lookin’ folk showin’ some skin.  Plenty of good lookin’, handsome guys and plenty o’ smokin’ ladies out there.  Problem is ... There’s somethin’ about them that doesn’t make things as fun as it should be.  SO! We’re here ta educate ya ta keep from havin’ the same issues we’ve had with relationships kinda... explodin’.

“Let’s see here.  First it looks like we got Alex Mercer... Once was a normal fella, but he fell on some virus thing, died, and now ... From here, it looks like a very, very bad japanese hentai flick.  Are those... tentacles?  Er-... Well, he’s cold and rather psychotic.  Don’t know if that’s the virus or just Mercer.  His goals are ta create his own race o’ folk through viruses and all of that.  ... Maaaan, if the Red Light District gets a hold o’ this plotline...”

“Aiyaya ~ Now here we have the white princess, Zero.  Those red eyes shows the red devil within.  Vicious, violent, and as bitter as an old brit, she ain’t gonna be the cuddlin’ type.  Not only that, but she has a taste fer some nasty food.  Yer not gonna get an average dinner with her, either.  Now that I think about it, it’s better t’ call her the red princess.  Yer more likely ta see her coated in blood than anythin’ else.”

“Oh my.  Next it seems like we got Yasuo.  A lone wanderer that has no issue in hittin’ the bottles in the slightest.  Now, he ain’t a violent drunk or somethin’ like that.  Hell of a tease and will have his fun for a laugh or three.  He’s also loner.  Betrayal and all of that kinda messed up his life.  Now he’s off lookin’ fer revenge.  Revenge ain’t fun at all... Kinda blows, really.  Oh well, there are rumors that a mage is gonna steal his heart, anyways.  Good luck t’ him.”

“...... Akemi Homura ... Hm.  Well, this ain’t fun.  This girl’s pretty much a lot older than she looks which isn’t hard to do with how often she resets time.  She’s developed a hell of an obsession with a particular girlie, and that obsession is a lot stronger than anythin’ I’ve ever seen.  Hell, it topples Aizen’s power as far as I’m concerned.  Sure, she’s cute and use ta be an adorable lil’ girlie.  Now, she’s a tough lil’ cookie that-- ... Well, if Madoka and Homura were exact opposites and Madoka is considered as an angel or god ... Good luck gettin’ t’ her ~... Though, ya may go t’ jail if ya try.”

“When ya travel a tunnel and see the light at the end of it.. and that light is sparkling... Just turn around.  It ain’t worth it.  Edward Cullen is a Disco ball--I mean Vampire.  Sorry ~ Sure, he’s good lookin’.  He has that deep brooding personalities that gets all the teenagers in a mess.  Still, ya still gotta go through his hungry family.  Then there are werewolves that can’t keep shirts on.  Then there’s that Bella chick, too.  No wonder why disco is dead.”

“Hm... Looks like there’s one more.  Let’s see.  Aaah.  Our last one is a very poisonous tool.  Someone that’ll smile while tearin’ yer heart from yer chest.  A no heart, no soul monster that tends ta bring more harm than good no matter where he goes.  A very terrible man to be around and to be acquainted with.  ... Sounds like a nasty guy.  I wonder...”

my opinion on;

character in general: I only know so much about prototype. But the character is interesting and so are the abilities.how they play them: I think he does a great job. Mostly because I like the imposing biomass bastard.the mun: Piece of shit Canadian

Good lord, there’s a Mercer in Citta…

Mercer doesn’t have a lot of capability to heal himself, which is unfortunate. Moreover, Alex is on the top of his food chain, more or less - he’s never really learned how to swordfight, for example. But his shifting biomass gives him the sheer strength to make it a hard fight, and his armor will let him shrug off quite a lot of damage.

It’d be an extended war of attrition on both sides; the real question becomes whether Cloud can take out the armor (probably both uses) AND hack Mercer apart enough to keep him from regenerating. Worst case for Alex, he’s forced into a hasty retreat, and fast as Cloud is, he could probably manage it without too much of a problem. 

Best case for Alex, he kills and absorbs Cloud, and then has to contend with Mako energy and Jenova cells. But given the fact that the Blacklight Virus more or less became Mercer, he can probably manage Jenova cells, too. hive City better watch its ass, though, because Mercer would probably become around twice as powerful as he already was.

(Besides, Jenova’s original form was a shapeshifter in much the same way, so they’d get along well.)
