[Radri, incredulous, is about to point out that he's the one who kissed her, but Xan keeps speaking.]
Xan: You have to stop risking your life! If you must do so, at least have the courtesy to do it when I'm not present! What is the use of leaving if you're just going to haunt me anyway?!
[Radri stares at him, shocked, and Xan falters and lets go of her, pulling back.]
Xan: It is clear⦠I cannot escape you if you do not wish it. But tell me one thing. Why me? Why spend two months chasing me, when you could have replaced me in a heartbeat?
Radri: I can't replace you.
Xan, tired: Radri⦠wizards like me are a silver a dozen. Perhaps, if I wielded the moonblade, it would be a different matterābut I will never return to Evereska for it. Not even if you commanded it.
Radri: Why do you always bring our conversations back to things that don't matter? I don't need a wizard. I want you.
[At those words, Xan finally lifts his head, looking Radri in the face. Her gaze is cast to the side, and there's an uncomfortable furrow in her brow, a small frown on her lips... all from being honest. Her arms are crossed, and her grip on her sleeve tightens as he stares.]
Radri: But you're right. I've spent too much on this chase already. If you want to leave, then do it. I will not follow you this time.
[Xan can hardly believe what he's hearing. All his efforts of the past two months are finally being rewarded. But rather than relief, a sudden loneliness grips him, instead. He had not felt such loneliness even on the night he'd slipped away from her without a word; deep down, he'd known that he could count on seeing her again.]
Xan: If you want me⦠I will stay.
[Radri's eyes meet his as his words sink in... then she hugs him. It's the first hug she's ever given him. His mind goes blank, and he only barely manages to form the thought that he should commit this feeling to memory, only for her to finish her hug and release him. Radri looks up at the surprise on his face, and makes an unusually uncertain expression herself.]
Radri: I just...
[She turns her head away sharply.]
Radri: You kissed me.
[Now that she mentions it, in the heat of the moment, a temporary madness had claimed him and he had kissed her. A belated warmth climbs up the back of his neck.]
Radri: Since you took that, I'll take this. We're even.
[That only leaves him with much more to comment on, but before he can, she grabs the hem of his sleeve.]
Radri: Come on.
[She walks away, tugging him along with her. He stumbles on his first couple steps, then quickens his pace, and falls in step beside her. Before, being led like this had made him feel like a dog on a leash⦠but now he wonders if this isn't just her way of holding his hand.]
It is time to rest, I see. I wish to say goodbyes, for it is possible neither of us will survive the night. Be it the hordes of the Underdark, or the legions of undead, they will creep upon us in the dark, pierce our unseeing eyes, and this reverie will turn out to be the last.
*sigh* Not again!
giving xanās romance the art i wanted to give it years ago ā”
hi! i love your art! do you still have the revan "girlboss" buttons available? i somehow, while browsing your blog, came across a shop link where they were for sale. but it's a different website than the one that is linked in your blog home page? sorry, hope this makes sense! thank you!
Hi! Just wanted to say that you've forever been an inspiration and it's always a delight to come across your art! A lot of my journey with learning art has you to thank for, thank you so much for that!! (Also absolutely in love with all your sewing posts, all the dresses you've made look so beautiful!!)
thank you so much!! this is really sweet to hear, thank you q_q
Hi! I missed out on the preorders for your gravity falls restock, and one of the items Iāve been eyeing for a while⦠will you open preorders again or have a backstock for sale?
yes! leftover stock will go up on the shop after all preorders have been shipped out. i'll send an email out to everyone on the shop email list when that happens
using a sewing pattern without making & fitting a mockup first is like buying final sale clothing online, except in addition to losing your money you've also lost 30 hours of your life
