I am writing to express my profound disappointment and anger regarding Glitch’s mishandling of the recent situation. When releasing an official statement, the priority should have been an apology to the countries excluded from the premiere, rather than prioritizing self-defense. In South Korea, fans of The Amazing Digital Circus (TADC) are currently in a state of outrage due to the sudden exclusion from theatrical screenings. As a professional corporate entity, Glitch has a responsibility to ensure that its official statements are based on accurate facts. (↓below for more)
The South Korean side has suffered significant damages due to Glitch’s unilateral contract termination. The local distribution company is a small firm with fewer than 10 employees. Driven solely by their passion for TADC, they worked tirelessly to bring this indie animation to a wider domestic audience. They were at the very final stages of the screening approval process when Glitch’s abrupt cancellation invalidated all their efforts and resulted in substantial losses.
What is most frustrating is that South Korea does not fall under any of the reasons Glitch cited for the contract terminations.
First, regarding censorship: South Korea has very liberal screening laws, as evidenced by the theatrical release of intense and provocative works like Squid Game, Parasite, and 12.12: The Day. There would have been absolutely no legal or cultural barrier to screening TADC.
Second, regarding security: Glitch’s primary concern—content security—is fully addressed by the use of DCP (Digital Cinema Package), the global industry standard. DCP files consist of encrypted video (JPEG 2000), audio (MXF), and subtitles (XML). These are encrypted using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), a military-grade security protocol. Even if a server were compromised, the data remains useless without the specific digital 'key.'
Logically speaking, there was no valid reason for our contract to be terminated. Many other countries besides ours are feeling alienated and ignored by this decision.
Ultimately, what we demand are the clear facts and a sincere stance regarding this matter. For indie animation to truly evolve and grow, we urge you to make more prudent and wise decisions in the future.
Headcanon: Caine can "sense" data, specifically if it's one conjured/manifested by humans. By "consuming" or just being around the humans' output, he's able to "taste", "hear", "touch", and even "smell" it.
Whatever it is that the humans conjure up, Caine CAN eat; whether it is realistically inedible or edible-- because both are the same to him, being made up of "Macroverse data".
He might be able to peer into others' minds and see what these outputs are, but it's the equivalent of seeing a mouthwatering burger on paper; there's no texture, no smell, no taste. It's all a flat, 2d image.
Only IF a human conjures it because they know how it should feel/taste/smell like, is Caine able to truly comprehend it; and soon, he might even be able to mimic it.
Besides that, Caine has been fed nothing but negative data over the years, and because of that; he's able to sense the data Pomni conjured up from a mile away, since he's been "starved" the past 2 decades and can't really contain himself. His mouth also can't stop drooling once he senses there's a human-input data in the circus.

It's just that when I first saw these art pieces I thought: "wow, hell is so boring that Caine decided to just talk to a Pomni, because why not?"
And for some reason I'm sure that Pomny didn't want to go to the monastery, but she had to due to certain circumstances. And then she decided to summon a demon for fun and she got Caine. And now he can just appear at a random moment and start saying: "Oh, Pomny! I'm so glad to see you! You know, this is what happens there-.."

My first intention was more toxic version of them! Like, Pomni had gone through certain sinful circumstance, then from hell, Caine notices her corruption, and ascends to mortal world. Just after that circumstance, she decided to become a nun in order to confess her sins to God, while Caine tries to corrupt her with sugar-coated, flattering words. 👀///

When the humans are building a world for themselves in the ruins of another, he has to build himself up from nothing. He wasn't coded to be empathetic or genuine, or to even love himself... But doesn't stop him from learning how to.
